Oh, Pebbles, someone will come soon! 🥺

Pebbles was a stray that originally was with shenango valley animal shelter. We transferred her to us in hope to find her a home!
We sat with her this morning telling her how wonderful she is, but her only wish is for her person to come take her home soon!

Each day that passes, Pebbles sees people ask to meet other dogs, but rarely her. She gets so excited for her kennel breaks and walks with volunteers. Our hearts are breaking for this perfect girl!
We don’t know much about Pebbles past, but we do know whoever raised her taught her not to jump up on people, potty training, and leash manners. She won’t even take a treats from a table unless she’s told she’s allowed. She loves to snuggle, and she loves short walks. Pebbles is truly such a good dog!

This 5 year old has so much love left to give! She would prefer to be the only animal in the home, but she LOVES kids! She has had dog friends outside of the home but she gets very attached to her people!

Please consider giving this good girl the perfect home by applying online at strayhavenanimalshelter.com!

Happy Halloween from Grace! 🎃
The shelter will be open 10-3 today but Grace has an important announcement!

📣 Grace has completed her heartworm treatment!!! 📣

We are SO excited and Grace is so ready for her forever home!!
This sweetheart has been with us since April of this year making her our current longest dog resident. 🥺
She is happy and excitable straight out of the kennel, but settles down very fast! She loves to take nice strolls on the leash (her leash manners are great) and cuddle up next to anyone on the couch!
Grace would prefer to be the only pet in the home but she’s only 4 and such a loving dog.
Our volunteers and staff all adore her, and can’t wait to see her thriving in a home!

Apply online now at strayhavenanimalshelter.com or come meet her today 10-3 at the shelter!

She will steal your heart for sure!

❗ $5 Friday for Lacey Mae ❗

Lacey Mae- our "Eeyore", our favorite couch hippo.... She has recently gotten over a very bad infection that had settled in her legs.

Katie noticed some swelling on her back legs (thought to just be pressure sores) on a Saturday, and by Monday morning she was unable to walk. Katie and Ceara carried her to the van and rushed her to our friends at Happy Tales Veterinary Hospital . Dr. Yurkon worked his magic!! We are beyond grateful for the amazing care she received from him, her technicians and assistants during her FOUR day hospital stay.

She had somehow contracted a nasty infection and it resulted in severe edema or swelling of her back legs, and finally the infection made its way out of the body in the form of abscesses.... Poor Lacey was in so much pain she just let the team do their thing. She knew they were there to help her.

So with that being said, she is ON THE MEND! Almost back to normal- but still experiencing some residual swelling in her legs. Today was the first day since all of this that she truly was herself- taking all the treats and even belly rubs!

Because of the tremendous stress on her body, Lacey's veterinary bill is another large one that we as a shelter face. This is the reality of saving them and helping them get better so they can find their forever.

We have had several hard cases lately - we are aware. But we hope that our supporters, donors, and community can come together again to help Lacey Mae.

Please, if you are able; donate towards Lacey's vet bills.

💵$5 Friday has become our platform to help spread awareness of the hardships these animals face- but also the wonderful outcome [that some don't get to see] of being healed; and being adopted.

Welcome Maisy to the shelter! 🦋

Maisy is a 2 year old black lab mix who has had a really rough start to life. Maisy was originally adopted from another shelter and found her way to us last year due to the family not being able to care for her. Now Maisy is back with us because her dad passed away.
This has been extremely hard on Maisy as she misses her dad and is unsure why she’s a shelter dog again. We are hoping we can make this stay a short one for her and find her forever home!

Maisy loves to play and explore. She is an all around good girl who is dog friendly and did well when cat tested. Maisy gets very attached to her people and can’t wait to follow you everywhere!

To apply for this beauty, go to strayhavenanimalshelter.com!
