Dead Possums Riding Club is pleased and proud to announce this year's winners of the Mercer County Patriot's Scholarships: Greydon Gustas of Reynolds, Kaitlynn Arbuckle of Greenville, and Waylon Bacher of Lakeview.
Greydon is the son of Dave and Trista Gustas. He carries a 3.2 GPA and is dual-enrolled at Thiel College. He has been involved in Wrestling as a team captain, Baseball, Cross Country, Track & Field, Entrepreneurship, RHS Student Section Spirit Leader, and Yearbook. He has volunteered serving Thanksgiving dinners at the Salvation Army, Mahoning Valley Top Soccer Program for Special Needs Population, and at Reynolds VFW Post 7599. His work experience includes working in maintenance at RHS, Richard English and Associates, and the Mercer County Tax Assessment Office. He will be attending Penn State Behrend in the Fall, majoring in Business. Greydon is the great-grandson of a World War II Veteran.
Kaitlynn is the daughter of Kevin, Jessi, and Kaylia Arbuckle. She carries a 13.25 QPA. She is her Class Historian, Vice President of her Class, and National Honor Society Secretary. She is employed as a Hostess at Mama Jane's Eatery. She will be attending Slippery Rock University in the Fall, majoring in Psychology. Kaitlynn is the granddaughter of a Veteran.
Waylon is the son of Thomas and Heather Bacher. He carries a 3.73 GPA and also attends the Mercer County Career Center, specializing in Welding. Waylon has participated in Community Cleanup and spends time enjoying welding, carpentry, and working in his garage. Waylon plans on entering into the Steamfitters Union upon graduation. Waylon is the great grandson, grandson, and nephew of Veterans.
Dead Possums Riding Club has now awarded $35,000 in scholarship money through the Mercer County Patriot's Scholarships since 2019. Our work in our community is only possible because of the incredible support of the Mercer County Community. We are proud of what we do and grateful for the support shown towards our organization. Once again we would like to congratulate this year's winners!
