Let's welcome in November at our monthly membership meeting on Tuesday November 3. Following our business meeting, Madeline Quigley, a garden designer from Pittsburgh, will be our guest speaker. Her topic "Negotiating with Nature" will break down how garden designers balance the competing demands of what we want, what a site will allow and how a garden relates to the house. A light lunch will be served. All are welcome. The meeting begins at 11:00.

It was a wonderful Annual Meeting Out today of the Westmoreland Garden Council. An annual business meeting acknowledging the dedicated work of our committees, the election of 2027 officers, beautiful decorations, a lovely basket raffle, a silent auction, a delicious lunch of salad, chicken romano, eggplant parmesan, a generous ravioli, mixed garden vegetables, cake and cookies. great fellowship, a restaurant gift card raffle and an outstanding speaker completed the event. Nick Stahlman of the Audubon Society of Westmoreland Pennsylvania was the premier program of the year. He was very knowledgeable and educated all on various birds of our area. He brought 2 live birds, an Eastern screech owl and a native falcon type of bird. It was a terrific luncheon meeting. We thank all who made it happen. If you love gardening, please join us in 2027. Annual membership dues are $30 and we meet the first Tuesday of each month plus we host lots of special events. Fun, learning and new friends are guaranteed.
