We had the pleasure of participating in the Franklin Park Resource Fair hosted a week ago on Saturday, May 30th, sponsored by PG County Council Member Timothy Adams.

The resource fair gave the community at Franklin Park Apartments, and other Greenbelters, the opportunity to engage with several of the county's sister agencies including PEPCO, WSSC, and Washington Gas. There were also non-profit organizations like us, and also CARECEN and the food pantry that provided groceries and other services vital to the community.

Throughout April, shoppers at the Greenbelt Co-op Supermarket donated $3,368.17 to the Greenbelt Makerspace and Tool Library. These funds will support our rent, insurance, supplies, new tools, and future community events. All those cents' really added up!

THANK YOU to all the community members that donated and our fellow neighborhood cooperative who runs their round-up campaigns to give back to the community.

The Greenbelt Co-op Supermarket is only about 40 steps from our Tool Library, and is always a great place to get your groceries (or a smoothie) before OR after borrowing Tools. And don't forget to Round-up!

One of our regular "fixers" at our Repair Cafes is Brett, who generally repairs jewelry, but also help out on electronics/computers, woodworking repairs, sharpening knives/tools, and, well anything else that's needed at a given repair cafe.

"Each time I meet someone new at a Repair Cafe, I feel like I am making a difference in that person's life. Even if the item cannot be fixed, we sit together and do our best to make broken things whole. I'm lucky, I get that sensation over and over during any Repair Cafe, whereas the person who brought something to be repaired only gets it the one time."
