Green Bay Hmong Pre-New Year Special Guest!

Mee Vang is the president of the United Hmong Family, Inc. in maintaining two events considered the largest Hmong cultural events across the U.S. In 2019, Mee became the first woman to be the chair of the Hmong New Year event in the history of organizing Hmong new year celebrations across the U.S. Her accomplishments have led her to become the elected president for the organization the year after. Mee was re-elected in 2023 to lead the organization for another term in continuing to strengthen the Hmong identity and offer platforms where both Hmong and non-Hmong can embrace the rich Hmong culture, language and arts.

Mee Vang received her M.A. from St. Catherine University. She began her professional career in a small nonprofit organization, the Hmong 18 Council in 2000. As the executive director, she allocated $400,000 to the organization and was able to strengthen the Hmong mediation program in working with Hamline University where 31 Hmong elders, both men and women, become qualified mediators under the state of MN Rule 114 in 2003.

For the last twenty years, Mee has gone onto work on other Hmong community initiatives including the Hmong Laos Human rights issues where she spoke several times at the United Nations Indigenous Forum in New York City, NY., and was invited to speak with the Thai Forum Minister to speak on the issue with the repatriation of Hmong in Thailand. Aside from her avid work in the Hmong community, Mee has also worked professionally in higher education, a fortune 500 company, and is currently doing policy work at the state of Minnesota.

Our snow plower did not make it this morning to plow yet so please use street parking for now. Enter the building from the brown door off of Broadway.

Lots of beautiful dresses, shoes and accessories! Limited on boys/mens items.

And now, it's time to give back! We're hosting our FIRST EVER Prom Attire Giveaway on February 8th, 2025!
