The water levels are low at the Allen Park pond exposing a lot of trash that has been collecting there for years. Although we don’t like seeing the low water, we’re going to take advantage of the opportunity and clean out as much trash as we can from the exposed edges of the pond on October 24th from 10am-12pm. This cleanup is going to be muddy, so don’t wear your nice shoes.
We will have compostable trash bags available courtesy of Repurpose as well as a limited supply of pick sticks and biodegradable latex-free gloves. Please plan to bring your own water and sunscreen. Feel free to also bring your own pick stick and gloves if you would like.
GET YOUR BADGE! For helping us out, grab your limited-edition Allen Park Cleanup sticker badge (while supplies last). We will be creating a new badge every month for our cleanup projects, so start your collection by joining us! Sticker badges are provided by our friends at Minuteman Press.
*The cleanup project is weather dependent. Please be sure to follow us on social media for updates.
