Looking for a fun way to give back, meet great people, and support affordable homeownership in our community? Join the Nevada County Habitat ReStore volunteer team!

We currently have opportunities for:

🔹 Door Greeters
🔹 Small Appliance & Engine Testers
🔹 Organizers (in-store and behind the scenes)
🔹 Furniture Repair Assistants
🔹 Garden Maintenance Volunteers
🔹 Web-Based Support
🔹 Merchandising & Displays
🔹 Donation Loading & Unloading
🔹 Janitorial Support

June is National Homeownership Month, and we're celebrating the 46 local families who have achieved affordable homeownership through Nevada County Habitat for Humanity.

Home is more than a house—it's stability, security, and the opportunity to build a brighter future. Every Habitat homeowner has worked hard to get there through sweat equity, homebuyer education, and partnership.

One homeowner recently shared, "For the first time in my life, I don't feel like I'm one bad month away from losing everything."

Exciting things are happening on our current four-home project! Thanks to beautiful spring weather, dedicated volunteers, and our hardworking construction crew, progress continues across multiple homes as we move closer to welcoming new families home.

Recent milestones include the completion of the new driveway apron and sidewalks, with final roadway paving expected soon. We’re also grateful to have welcomed several new volunteers to the build site, including recently retired contractors sharing their skills and experience.

Our Nevada County Habitat for Humanity ReStore team had a wonderful time participating in Armed Forces Day at the Grass Valley Airport on Saturday, May 16. With live music, food trucks, airplane rides, and family-friendly activities, it was a fantastic day of community connection and celebration.

We enjoyed meeting so many local residents, sharing Habitat’s mission, and connecting with several people interested in volunteering. Events like these remind us how strong our community is when people come together to support one another.

As a special thank-you to those who have served, we're proud to offer a 10% discount for veterans and active military every Thursday at the ReStore.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hello. We look forward to seeing you at future community events! 💙💚

Did you know that Habitat homeowner partners contribute hundreds of volunteer hours beyond building their own homes? From helping at the construction site and ReStore to lending a hand in our office, their commitment helps strengthen our entire community.

Recently, two of our new partner families joined us to prepare our Spring Appeal mailing, reminding us that Habitat is truly about people helping people.

We're also excited to share that we've reached 52% of our Spring Appeal fundraising goal thanks to the incredible support of our community!
