Ryan is part of our ILO Employment Services team and works at Timberlake Lodge Hotel, where he spends several hours each week folding laundry and helping keep things running behind the scenes.

We’re proud of the work Ryan does and the consistency, responsibility, and skills he brings to his job each week. Meaningful employment opportunities like this allow individuals to contribute to their workplace, build confidence, and be an important part of their community.

Today, our very own Sonia Lindgaard is speaking at Talent Without Limits: The Value of Inclusive Employment at Timberlake Lodge, sharing local employment success stories and highlighting the incredible impact inclusive employment can have on individuals, businesses, and our community.

In honor of Sonia speaking today, we’re shining a light on another local business partner that our ILO Employment Services team is proud to work with: Coldwell Banker Northwoods Realty!

Tishell, Kirsten, CJ, and Carter work hard to help keep Coldwell Banker looking its best. From cleaning bathrooms and vacuuming to mopping, taking out garbage, and helping with the everyday upkeep of the office, they take pride in the work they do and the role they play as part of the Coldwell Banker team.

But these opportunities are about so much more than cleaning. They’re about building confidence, responsibility, independence, teamwork, communication, and a sense of pride in contributing to a workplace and the community.

We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with Coldwell Banker and for the opportunity they provide our participants to gain meaningful work experience, build skills, and be valued members of their team.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month!

This month, we’re celebrating Talent Without Limits by highlighting the incredible people, businesses, and opportunities that make inclusive employment possible right here in our community.

Throughout October, we’ll be shining a spotlight on some of the amazing local businesses our Employment Services participants partner with, businesses that open their doors, create opportunities, and help our participants gain valuable real-world experience.

One of those incredible partners is Fireplace Lifestyles!

Eugene has the opportunity to work alongside their team, helping with cleaning and organization while building skills in responsibility, communication, customer service, teamwork, and so much more. These experiences are about more than simply learning a job, they’re about building confidence, discovering strengths, contributing to the community, and showing just how much people with disabilities have to offer.

And let’s just say… they were more than happy to take advantage of the opportunity. Lots of laughs, big smiles, and a whole lot of whipped cream made for a pretty unforgettable afternoon!

Today was such a good day with our ILO crew.

So many smiling faces, good food, laughter, friendship, and just getting to spend time together outside of the usual day-to-day.

We’re so grateful for every person who makes ILO what it is. Days like today are a reminder of how lucky we are to have such a wonderful group of people around us.
