Station 70 VFD is located north of Granbury off of Tin Top Hwy at 3410 Hilltop Rd in Granbury, TX 76048. Meetings and trainings are held every Tuesday at 7pm.

🚨 GRASS FIRE RESPONSE: Brock Hwy 🚨

Yesterday, August 25th, at 5:53 PM, Station 70 responded to assist Lipan VFD with a reported grassfire in the 8300 block of Brock Hwy.

Initial units arriving on scene made a great stop, stopping forward progress and containing the fire to an estimated 45 acres. Even with regional departments stretched thin between multiple incidents—including the Ross Fire in Palo Pinto County—this fire was quickly kept in check thanks to a swift, coordinated response.

Hood County resources on scene included:

North Hood County VFD
Hood County Fire Marshal’s Office
Hood County Sheriff's Office

Several Parker County departments also sent numerous resources, providing a much-needed helping hand. We are incredibly fortunate to have such strong mutual aid partners in our region.

☀️ Stay Safe in the Heat! ☀️

We have an Extreme Heat Warning this week. Your local fire department wants to remind you to drink plenty of water and rest in the shade.

Please look out for each other. Know the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke:

Heat exhaustion means your body is getting too hot. You need to cool down fast.

Heat stroke is a medical emergency. If someone stops sweating, gets confused, or faints, call us right away.

🚨 7-DAY EMERGENCY BURN BAN — HOOD COUNTY 🚨

During the regularly scheduled August 11th Hood County Commissioners Court meeting, the Hood County Fire Marshal's Office requested a 7-day Emergency Burn Ban due to increasing wildfire concerns and continued dry conditions across the county.

🔥 Wildfire conditions are rapidly becoming more dangerous. With dry fuels, hot temperatures, and limited moisture, even a small fire can quickly become a serious incident.

We are asking everyone in our community to do their part:

🚫 Please refrain from all outdoor burning.
🔥 Do not burn trash, brush, or debris.
🌡️ Be especially cautious during the excessive heat.
🚒 Help us keep our firefighters out of unnecessary and preventable fires.

Our firefighters are ready to respond when you need us — but preventing a fire is always better than fighting one.

Please take this burn ban seriously, stay safe, stay hydrated, and help us protect Hood County and our surrounding communities.

One spark is all it takes.

🚨 BIG NEWS 🚨

Our Tanker 70 and North Hood County VFD’s Tanker 26 are both headed back to Hood County to be delivered. We are very excited to be the first trucks completed out of the batch of new trucks being built for each of the Hood County departments. We look forward to getting our apparatus in service to better serve our community.

🚨 FIREFIGHTER SPOTLIGHT 🚨

Meet Tristan, our featured volunteer! Tristan has been serving our community with dedication since 2021, joining the fire service when he was just 17 years old. We are incredibly proud to have him on our crew.

⚡ ABOVE & BELOW GROUND

By day, Tristan works in underground electrical, keeping our power grids running smoothly. By night, he brings that same sharp safety mindset to Station 70 to protect our community. Tristan helps maintain the department apparatus and station with any issues that may arise.

💭 IN HIS OWN WORDS

Why he joined: "I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do as a career growing up, debating if I wanted to be a cop or a firefighter. I decided to join a volunteer department, and ever since, it has become a calling to me."

Favorite part of volunteering: Working closely with the community and getting to experience unique opportunities, like doing fire standbys on movie and TV sets!

🔧 OFF-DUTY LIFE

When he isn't answering calls, Tristan stays busy working on cars, taking care of his animals, hitting the gym, or heading out to go fishing.
