We are so grateful to Sparks Music School for their annual pj drive! So many children will be more cozy this winter because of their generosity!

Something cozy is coming! 🧡 Beginning November 2, we will be collecting new pajamas (toddler through teen sizes) for Rainbow Room of Hood & Somervell Counties to support local families navigating difficult circumstances. More details coming soon!

Caseworker Spotlight - Britni Sargent

Investigator Britni Sargent is a dedicated and compassionate member of Child Protective Investigations who consistently goes above and beyond for the children and families she serves. Britni approaches each case with professionalism, persistence, and genuine care, even when faced with difficult circumstances. She is dependable, hardworking, and always willing to step in to support her teammates.

Britni’s commitment to ensuring children are safe while treating families with dignity and respect reflects the heart of the work we do. We are proud to recognize Investigator Britni Sargent as our Rainbow Room Caseworker Spotlight and grateful for the difference she makes in our community every day.

The First Presbyterian Church hosted a "Dolly Parton Kindness Day" which also had a book donation. These books were collected and delivered by these very hard working young people, the daughter and son of Rainbow Room's very own Bianca Brownfield. Board Member Spotlight!

We’re excited to introduce Claire Mitchell Copeland, one of our newest Rainbow Room board members!

After spending 26 years as an Army family, Claire and her husband recently moved back to Granbury, where they’re excited to finally put down roots and become more involved in the community they love.

Service has always been an important part of Claire’s life. Over the years, she has volunteered with various Army Spouses’ Clubs, the Junior Leagues of Temple and Washington, D. C., Army community thrift shops, and the DAR. She is excited to continue that tradition of service here at home with the Rainbow Room.

Sweet Hannah celebrated turning 10 by asking her friends to bring donations for the Rainbow Room in lieu of gifts!! There is a special place in our hearts for Hannah and her family!! ❤️💗 Thank you!!

Our CPS caseworkers were thrilled with a delicious breakfast of Einstein bagels from our September Caring for Caseworkers group Meg Moore of Moore Texas Properties. Also, special thanks to our hard-working caseworkers. They deserve and NEED our community support. They have to deal with things we don’t even want to think about. We are so thankful for them and to people like Meg Moore for showing them some love. ❤️.

Caseworker Spotlight

Meet Katie! Katie has been a Permanency Specialist with Our Community Our Kids (OCOK) since June 2024, and we are so lucky to have her on our team!

Katie is kind, compassionate, passionate, and always willing to lend a helping hand. She is the type of person who will go out of her way to make others feel valued and appreciated. Whether she’s taking on extra work, giving someone a well-deserved shoutout, or surprising a coworker with a random little gift just to let them know she was thinking about them, Katie is always there.

Beyond the kindness she shows her coworkers, Katie is a tremendous advocate for the children and families we serve in Hood and Somervell Counties. She leads with compassion, works hard for the families on her caseload, and consistently shows up with a heart for helping others."

Last week the Rainbow Room had the privilege of sharing who we are at what we do with “Women on Mission” at Acton Baptist Church. This week, Judy Satterwhite, delivered a car full of donations to stock our shelves. We are so grateful for the wonderful people who help the children and families of Hood and Somervell Counties!
