Monday evening our Aktion Club had a “give back” fundraiser at Culver’s on Lincolnway East in Goshen.

19 of our members & guests showed up to enjoy delicious Culver’s for dinner with 10% of our bills and all other diners bills donated to Aktion Club by the amazing people at Culver’s.

WELCOME our NEW MEMBER

A big MAPLE CITY KIWANIS welcome to Felicia Grossman.

Felicia was born and raised in Goshen. She attended Goshen High School and Indiana University. She is a marketing specialist with an international company. She travels for work but when she is home, she’s been attending our club.

At our regular weekly meeting, our guest speaker was Michael Deranek of Bashor Children’s Home in Goshen.
Michael spoke to the history of Bashor Home from a generous donation by John and Mellie Bashor in 1923. From its service as an “orphanage” up to the 1960s to an alternative school option for kids in the 1980s to crisis mgmt, kids dealing with sexual harm and human trafficking now, Bashor’ continuum of care will always evolve for a lifetime of care.

At our regular weekly meeting, Kim Harden, VP at Greencroft Goshen was our guest and speaker.
She has been with Greencroft since December of 2025. She started her health care career in Dallas, then Atlanta before coming to Goshen.
Kim spoke about Greencroft’s continuum of care from Independent living, assisted living to full nursing care.
Over 1,100 residents call Greencroft home over 170 acres. Greencroft Goshen employs nearly 500 as well.

This week’s regular meeting was held at Ryan’s Place in Goshen. Our guest speaker and tour guide was Natalie Jerlecki , Development Director there.
They just moved into their brand new facility on Regent St. in Goshen
Ryan’s Place was founded in 2002 by Rex & Nancy Gleim following the death of their 20 year old son, Ryan.
Ryan’s Place provides free grief counseling, crisis management, and support services to adults, kids as young as 3 yrs old, churches, organizations and businesses.

At our regular weekly meeting, we inducted our fourth new member this year. Welcome Jim Freeze. Thank you for joining our Maple City Kiwanis family.
Our guest speaker was Ansley Duell, granddaughter of club members Bob Duell and grand niece to Ralph Duell. She spoke on Servant Leadership. She led her swim team at St Mary College in St Louis to volunteer to help “Operation Christmas Child” packing shoeboxes for children around the world through Samaritan’s Purse. She has also traveled on mission trips twice to Mexico and to Uganda. In just a few weeks, she is leaving for Thailand.
Thank you Ansley for your Leadership, mission work and speaking to our club.
Next week’s meeting is a field trip. Our meeting will be held at Ryan’s Place, Regent Dr in Goshen.

Kids and Kiwanians work together

Members of our Maple City Kiwanis Club and Goshen High School students came together to help and beautify the Goshen Salvation Army.

GHS Business teacher JJ Dubois and his Business Entrepreneurial students volunteers their time to work along side Kiwanians.

Maple City Kiwanis and Goshen High School students are making a difference in our community.
