Good morning!!

Unfortunately, due to weather, the Show Committee has voted to cancel our show this weekend.
Due to us not having a rain date scheduled and some 4-Hers heading to college, we will not be rescheduling this show and will just be using the 3 high point shows that we have already ran.

We do still have a few things on our calendar and would love to see you all during our:

Family Campout at Potato Creek September 18-20

And our Fun Show at the Fairgrounds September 26

🍀Saddle Club 🐴 Celebrating 10-Year 4-H Saddle Club Retiring Member Brianna Crouse 🐴💚**

Ten years ago, Brianna Crouse entered the Saddle Club arena as a young walk-trot rider with a horse named Max. Today, she leaves as a confident horsewoman with countless memories, lifelong friendships, and a heart full of gratitude.

Brianna's 4-H journey has been one of growth, perseverance, and learning from every horse she has been fortunate enough to ride.

There was **Max**, the unforgettable horse who earned Brianna the nickname of spending "more time in the dirt than in the saddle!" While contesting wasn't exactly his favorite event, Max loved the slower pleasure and halter classes and taught Brianna some of her very first lessons in horsemanship—and resilience.

Then came **Sq**rt**, the little gaited pony who helped rebuild Brianna's confidence after Max's occasional buck-offs. When she outgrew Sq**rt, she moved on to **Princess**, who showed her what it was like to ride a faster horse while proving that age doesn't stop a horse from giving its all.

The last chapter of her Saddle Club career has been written with **Willow**—also known as Willie, Wilford, Waffle, or Windy, depending on her mood! What started as a lease quickly became a lifelong partnership. Willow challenged Brianna every day, teaching her patience, determination, and trust. Even on difficult days, Willow always gave everything she had once they stepped into the arena together.

Brianna reflected on how special it is that her first ride in Saddle Club was on Max, and her final rides have been aboard Willow—a horse who has helped her win classes and continue competing beyond 4-H in both NFRA and IBRA events.

Throughout her speech, Brianna shared heartfelt thanks to the many people who made her journey possible. She expressed her gratitude to Heather McKay for helping connect her with Willow, Karina Barkey for the countless late nights, road trips, and unwavering friendship, her grandparents Marlene and John for always supporting her, Grandpa Brian for providing Max and caring for her throughout fair week, and Aunt Cassidy for introducing her to horses long before she was old enough for 4-H.

She also thanked her mom, and (dad) Ray for supporting her dreams, hauling horses across the state, and encouraging her every step of the way. A special thank you went to the Yoder family and the many Saddle Club families who welcomed, encouraged, and supported her throughout the past ten years.

Brianna's story is a reminder that 4-H is about so much more than competition. It's about the horses who teach us life lessons, the families who cheer us on, the friendships that become family, and the memories that last forever.

Congratulations, Brianna, on an incredible 10-year 4-H Saddle Club career! Thank you for everything you've brought to our club. We can't wait to see where your passion for horses takes you next, and we know you'll continue making us proud wherever the trail leads.

🍀Saddle Club 🐴 Celebrating Retiring 5 year 4-H Saddle Club Member Paige Truman 🐴

While Paige Truman's 4-H Saddle Club journey may have been five years instead of ten, the impact she made on our club will be remembered for years to come.

Paige's adventure began with Ruby, a young horse who was still learning just as much as Paige was. After Ruby suffered a serious injury, Paige faced the challenge of riding a two-year-old horse through her first Saddle Club season. Thanks to the support of leaders like Dee at Horse Camp, Ruby gained the confidence to simply walk forward in the arena—and together, they began building a partnership that would only grow stronger.

Their first year wasn't without excitement. A buck-off at Horse Camp resulted in Paige's first ambulance ride, but true to her determined spirit, she was back on her feet within 24 hours and never let that setback keep her from pursuing her goals.

As Ruby matured, so did Paige. Together they tackled new challenges, including jumping into the Senior division with a young, energetic horse and not knowing many members her own age. Ruby certainly had her "spicy" moments, but through patience, persistence, and plenty of laughter, the two became an incredible team.

Paige shared her heartfelt appreciation for the Saddle Club families who helped her along the way. She thanked the McKay family for their advice during frustrating moments, the Yeager family for always lending a helping hand (and a curb chain when needed!), the McKerchie family for their encouragement and training tips, and everyone who stayed late helping convince Ruby that loading into the trailer really wasn't so bad.

This final year brought many special memories—from being named First Runner-Up in the Fair Queen Pageant, to hearing the cheers from fellow members during her speed classes, to taking her final ride in the Saddle Club arena surrounded by friends who had become family.

Paige's story reminds us that 4-H is about so much more than ribbons. It's about resilience, friendships, mentorship, and growing alongside the horses that teach us patience, determination, and unconditional love.

Congratulations, Paige! Thank you for sharing your journey with the Elkhart County 4-H Saddle Club. We wish you nothing but success in your next adventure and know you'll always have a place in the Saddle Club family.

🍀Saddle Club 🐴 Celebrating Retiring 4-H Saddle Club 8 year retiring Member Shannon Parcell 🐴

As Shannon Parcell closes the chapter on her 4-H Saddle Club career, she leaves behind a story that reminds us all that success isn't measured only by ribbons—it's measured by perseverance, growth, and the memories made along the way.

Shannon's journey began eight years ago in fifth grade when her Aunt Allie introduced her to horseback riding aboard Princess. That first ride sparked a passion that would shape the next eight years of her life. After Princess retired, Shannon found her forever partner, Falcon, and together they embarked on a journey filled with challenges, determination, and unforgettable moments.

Her 4-H years weren't always easy. A canceled fair during COVID meant missing her first chance to show Falcon. The following year, an injury to Falcon just before fair forced Shannon to ride another horse instead. There were years spent learning Falcon's cues, struggling through patterns, and wondering if they would ever truly become a team.

But Shannon never gave up.

With patience, hard work, and countless hours in the saddle, everything finally began to click. The partnership she had worked so hard to build with Falcon became everything she had hoped it would be. She discovered that becoming successful isn't about instant results—it's about showing up, learning from setbacks, and continuing to try again.

Of course, not every memory was perfect. Shannon will never forget her unforgettable Stake Race run when Falcon chose to go left while Shannon was already leaning right, sending her flying headfirst into the arena. While it wasn't funny at the time, it's now one of the memories she laughs about the most—proof that sometimes the best stories come from the unexpected moments.

Throughout it all, Shannon credits her family for making this journey possible. She thanks her Aunt Allie for introducing her to horses, and her dad and stepmom for every mile traveled, every encouraging word, every lesson learned, and for believing in her even when she doubted herself.

As Shannon heads off to college, she says goodbye to another fair season, another pattern, and another ride with Falcon. While it's bittersweet to leave just as everything finally came together, she leaves with no regrets—only gratitude for eight incredible years filled with horses, family, friendships, challenges, and unforgettable memories.

Now, she looks forward to watching her little brother, Jaxon, begin his own 4-H journey, hoping he finds the same lessons, friendships, and passion that shaped her into the person she is today.

Shannon's story is a beautiful reminder that the destination isn't always the most important part of the journey. Sometimes it's the lessons learned, the people beside you, and even the falls that make the ride worthwhile.

💚🤍 **Celebrating Our Retiring 10-Year 4-H Saddle Club Member – Cady Fisher** 🤍💚

Today we celebrate **Cady Fisher** as she takes her final ride as a 10-year member of the Elkhart County 4-H Saddle Club. Over the past decade, Cady has grown from a young rider learning alongside her very first pony into a confident horsewoman whose journey has been built on patience, perseverance, and gratitude.

Cady's 4-H adventure began with her pony, **Zeke**, affectionately known as **"Little Man."** Together, they learned everything side by side. Whether it was finally picking up the flag in the contesting arena or simply mastering a smooth canter, every accomplishment was earned together.

Looking back, Cady realized that Zeke wasn't just teaching her how to ride—he was teaching her how to work through challenges, stay patient, and never give up.

Then came **Ace**, a horse full of energy who certainly kept Cady on her toes. As a young rider, Ace could be intimidating, but over time their partnership grew stronger. After recovering from a soft tissue injury, Ace returned to the arena as a calmer, more confident horse, and together they discovered that some of life's greatest lessons don't come from winning.

Cady shared one of the biggest lessons Ace taught her:

*"Never take a ride for granted. Sometimes it's not about running the fastest pattern or bringing home the biggest ribbon. Sometimes it's about appreciating the quiet moments and simply being grateful that you get to ride at all."*

Her final partner, **Bailey**, challenged her in entirely different ways. Bailey taught Cady responsibility, perseverance, confidence, and that every horse has its own personality and agenda. Those challenges helped shape Cady into not only a better rider, but a better person.

Throughout her speech, Cady expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people who supported her every step of the way.

She thanked her grandmother for introducing her to 4-H and encouraging her through every opportunity, even while courageously battling cancer. She thanked Grandpa Ed for always providing the camper during fair week, her mom for every early morning coffee run, every late night, and always knowing where everything was, and Grandpa Bricker for filling every fair week with laughter.

Cady also thanked Stephanie and Shelby Green for being the best trailer buddies anyone could ask for, Baylee Niles and Liv Black for always cheering her on and creating unforgettable memories, and all of her family, friends, and Saddle Club members who celebrated every victory and lifted her up after every setback.

As Cady reflected on her journey, she shared a message that perfectly captures the spirit of 4-H:

*"These horses have given me so much more than ribbons and trophies. They've taught me patience, resilience, responsibility, gratitude, and confidence. They shaped me into the person I am today, and for that, I'll always be thankful."*

Cady's 10 years in the Saddle Club have been filled with friendships, laughter, challenges, unforgettable horses, and memories that will last a lifetime. While this chapter may be coming to an end, the lessons she's learned and the impact she's made will remain part of the Saddle Club family for years to come.

💚🤍 **Celebrating Our Retiring 10-Year 4-H Saddle Club Member – Anna Rohn** 🤍💚

As Anna Rohn completes her 10th and final year in 4-H, we celebrate a journey filled with dedication, growth, unforgettable horses, and the incredible people who helped make it all possible.

Anna's 4-H story began with her first horse, **Delilah**, a chestnut Thoroughbred she received for her eighth birthday. Together they tried a little bit of everything, from contesting to halter classes, creating memories that sparked a lifelong love of horses. Later came **Samson**, the patient and forgiving horse who taught Anna so much and helped build the confidence and skills that would carry her through her 4-H career.

Although both Delilah and Samson have since crossed the rainbow bridge, their impact on Anna's life and horsemanship will never be forgotten. Their lessons and memories remain a part of every ride.

In recent years, Anna had the opportunity to work with **Hope**, a talented young mare who ignited her passion for showmanship and taught her that success is often found in the smallest details. Most recently, she took on **Zoey**, a green-broke mare who became the perfect partner for one final 4-H season. Through patience, hard work, and determination, Anna and Zoey have grown together, making her final year one to remember.

Throughout her speech, Anna shared heartfelt gratitude for the many people who supported her journey. From family members who spent countless hours hauling horses, attending shows, and encouraging her dreams, to friends, trainers, mentors, and supporters who believed in her every step of the way, Anna's success has truly been a team effort.

As she closes this chapter, Anna plans to continue pursuing her passion for horses while working as a veterinary assistant at Equine Veterinary Hospital of Northern Indiana—a fitting next step for someone whose love of animals has been evident throughout her entire 4-H career.

Anna's story is a reminder that 4-H is about much more than ribbons and awards. It's about learning, growing, building confidence, creating lifelong friendships, and developing a passion that lasts far beyond the fairgrounds.

Congratulations, Anna, on an incredible 10-year journey with the Elkhart County 4-H Saddle Club. We are so proud of all you have accomplished and can't wait to see where your future takes you.

💚🤍 **Celebrating Our Retiring 10-Year 4-H Saddle Club Member – Ean Yeager** 🤍💚

Today, we honor **Ean Yeager** as he takes his final ride as a 4-H Saddle Club member. Over the past 10 years, Ian has become known for his sense of humor, his love of making people laugh, and the positive energy he brought to every practice, show, and fair.

Ian shared that some of his favorite memories came from the late nights spent contesting with friends—even if the early mornings were never his favorite! Through it all, he learned that the greatest rewards in 4-H aren't always the ribbons hanging on the wall.

His message to every young 4-H member says it best:

*"It's not about the ribbons and the placings. It's about all of the fun and the friends that you make in the club."*

Ian's journey would not have been possible without the incredible support of his family. He thanked his parents, **Jen and Andy**, his sisters **Drea, Amber, and Emily**, Robbie, Dylan, his grandmas **Cindy and Fran**, and especially remembered his grandfathers, **Grandpa Grump** and **Grandpa Clint**, whose love, encouragement, and influence continue to guide him. Though they couldn't both be there for his final ride, their impact on his 4-H journey will never be forgotten.

He also expressed heartfelt appreciation to the many Saddle Club families and friends who helped him along the way, including the Holdermans, Allison, Erin, the McKerchies, and the Cutters, who became like family throughout his 4-H career.

Of course, no 4-H journey is complete without incredible horses. Ian reflected on each of the animals who helped shape him as a rider:
🐴 **Little Bud**, who started it all.
🐴 **Lacey**, who challenged him to become a better rider.
🐴 **Peyton**, who carried him through his final two years and taught him so much.
🫏 And **Moose**, the unforgettable donkey who may have preferred rolling after a bath to showing—but was always the best partner.

As Ean closes this chapter, he leaves behind a reminder that embodies what 4-H is all about: friendship, perseverance, laughter, and making memories that last a lifetime.

As Bella Ullery took her final ride as a 4-H member, we celebrated a journey filled with unforgettable horses, lifelong friendships, hard-earned accomplishments, and lessons that will stay with her forever.

From her very first horse, **John**, who laid the foundation for everything she knows, to the spirited **Rodeo**, who kept life exciting, Bella's path has been shaped by incredible equine partners. Her beloved heart horse, **Phoebe**, taught her courage, confidence, and what it truly means to trust your horse. Through challenges and triumphs—including Phoebe's miraculous recovery alongside her c**t, Midnight Prince—Bella learned resilience and gratitude.

**Bandido** brought consistency and success during a season of transition, while **Hot Shot** has been the perfect partner to close out her 4-H career, reminding her every day that growth often comes with a little extra spirit.

Bella shared that one of the greatest lessons 4-H has taught her is simple but powerful:

*"Never give up. Sometimes things don't go as we want. We fall in all aspects of life, but you get up, dust yourself off, and get back in the saddle."*

Her journey would not have been possible without the unwavering support of her parents, sister, Grandmother Sue, family, trainers, friends, leaders, and fellow 4-H members who encouraged her every step of the way. Their kindness, guidance, and belief in her helped shape not only the rider she became, but the young woman she is today.

Bella leaves 4-H knowing that while this chapter has come to an end, the memories, friendships, and love for horses will last a lifetime. She may be retiring as a 4-H member, but she'll always be cheering on the next generation from the sidelines.
