This morning's trip down Memory Lane is looking at the Parent Program.
Originally held as a full on dinner at the River Shelter, it was where the campers got to share with their parents some of the fun they had at camp that week.
After the Hogan Hill Shelter was built, the Parent Program moved there and by that point, camp had grown so big that serving dinner was not very feasible anymore, so instead, cookies and fruit was offered.
The Year that Shall Not be Named forced Westview to make some very significant changes to the overall operation of camp, and for a time, the Parent Program was not held.
Three years ago, we brought it back, but with a fresh new take. However, it still provides great closure for the camper and gives the parents a little bit of info on the week of camp.
Join us for our Friends and Family Camping Event, Labor Day weekend. It also coincides with our 60th Anniversary!
