Thank you to James Taylor of Washington State for the generous donation to Dog House Art House to help set up the new location.

🌈 He gave in memory of adorable Audie a very much loved dog and belonged to our very own Volunteer Beth. Audie passed away tragically recently. Our hearts go out to Beth. 🌈

Thank you Mr. Taylor for keeping the dogs in mind. Rest in peace adorable and precious angel Audie.

Adopted Luddie is doing well as part of a German Shepherd sandwich joining a white GSD sister and a black/tan GSD sister. From his family:

“Hello!
We wanted to update you on Luddie! He's doing very well. In the past week, we have taken him on his first car rides and walks in the park. He is enjoying his new adventures and his sisters are starting to accept him as part of the pack too. He's such a great dog.”

Hearing from adopters keeps us going. This beautiful guy was on the d-row at a small Texas town shelter, now he’s part of a family.

Had a new Volunteer help out from Victoria. He’s a friend of another volunteer and her son. Alot accomplished!

Broke down more kennels, moved them to concrete, set up roofs, and he loved on dogs and they on him and we talked a lot.

We are always looking for Volunteers. It helps Patricia plus keeps the dogs socialized.

Happy Happy Birthday to one of our best adopters & volunteers Emet!! And congratulations to Shumai for graduating from doggie school.

Massachusetts now is home to not one, not two, but three south Texas dogs, two from LaBahia and one from San Antonio, all came through the The Doghouse Art house in Goliad.

The last rescued /adopted pup just graduated from puppy training class and all three are pictured here sporting their Pride bandanas!

And today is a special day because it’s also this adopters 30th Birthday!

Adopted Fred Update! Do y’all remember Fred? He came in as a very sickly little stray puppy, skin and bones, with a very troubled tummy.

Look at him now, all grown up. Muscley and strong! Pictured here with his big sister, happy and living an amazing life.

We thank our outstanding adopters who not only provide top notch homes but continue to support us so that other thrown away puppies can get the same opportunity.

From the streets to fancy sheets! Do y’all remember Edie? The dog who was abandoned in San Antonio and left to fend for herself? She was filmed running after a rescuer’s car begging to be helped. Well look at her now.

Edie now lives in Wisconsin. From her adopter ……

“She’s doing pretty good! She’s almost back to full health if not there already. All her medicine has been taken, she’s got a lot of hair around her ears, the marks on her legs from laying on the San Antonio pavement are gone, and she’s almost back to a healthy weight!”

Adopted Dosido Update! Beagle was in our breed guesstimate so that’s exciting to be proven right by dna, but no Dachshund.

Received this update this morning from adoptive family in Delaware of Do si do!
She left Goliad on transport back in October.

She was one of a litter rescued by a young police officer who happened to be the son of a good friend and transporter.

We still have her brother, available and he’s a sweetie.

“Hey! Dosi has been doing very well, loving her home and family. We did a dna test to find out what she is to help with training and play ideas. Turns out she's mostly beagle, rottweiler and English cocker spaniel! We thought for sure there was dachshund but apparently not a lot if there is any at all 😆 hope u are doing well and having a wonderful day!

Adopted Elvis was formerly Chad way back in 2019 when he was just a foster pup. Since being adopted all those years ago, he has been living a spectacular life. From Fannin St in Goliad all the way to Pennsylvania. He’s getting up in age now but so happy and healthy and loved.
The family sends updates every year.

Adopted Luddie! Luddie was the star of show with the film crew. And what a long road to happiness for this sweet dog.

One of Patricia’s favorite animal control officers who has the best judge of dogs, asked to please take this amazing well trained dog that had been abandoned for weeks at an apartment complex and then had been with animal control for weeks with no luck of being reclaimed by owner.

They tried. Waited. His euthanasia day was the next morning. Patricia had alot going on but took him in.

Here he is one week into his new home and family both two legged and four.
