Happy tail! Update from Adopted Jack Black:
“It's our Gotcha Day for Jack Black (green collar). Hard to believe it's been one year since he came into our lives. He is such a joy and we love him so much. Forever grateful that you took him in and raised him so well to be the good boy he is. Thank you, and all rescues, so much for all you do for the pups. Congrats on your new location to continue your amazing work. Here is Jack Black and his big brother Bond, James Bond (soon to be 15 years young), relaxing in the back yard and keeping an eye out for rabbits, squirrels and turkeys. They're not bothered by the rabbit behind them.
Bless you, Al and Sandy “

Meet Consuela PC

My name means comfort or solace. That might make you think of hugs or cuddles, but I’m thinking more along the lines of soups, stews, mashed potatoes. Comfort food. Yes! We can do snacks together.

When we aren’t being comfy with snacks, the tune that will play on repeat in your brain when you see me strolling into the room is “Girls Just Want to Have Fun!".

That’s right. This gal is a lean long-legged playing machine. Yes! I would play with my Foster Mom’s jack-chi non-stop if he didn't get tuckered out. C’mon son recharge your battery. Heck, I’d play with Foster Mom non-stop if she didn't get teetered out either.

I am a puppy at heart, and view the world as a wonderful place to be. I enjoy attention - and will turn it into playtime immediately because the joy fullness and zest for life has to be released. Every day is a reason to celebrate.

Watch out though. I’m a bit of a gator potater and will use my mouth as a hand when playing - but don’t worry I’m very careful about it so no ouchies. It’ll be as if a muppet is gnawing on you.

True to my name, I do enjoy the comforts of a cozy home, the food and an occasional nap. But truly, what you’ll usually find is my doggie bed doubling as a storage container for all the toys and dog chews I pile up there.

Foster Mom is trying to get me leash trained, but I’m not so keen on leash training yet. Yuck! Who invented being attached to a human by a string! But I’m getting there (food bribes help!)

As to cats - I had a couple of run-in's with Foster Mom’s at the beginning. I quickly caught on to the fact that it’s just a better idea to leave cats alone. Their plots for world domination do not need my two cents. We get along fine now as long as I’m not interfering.

What kind of family suits me best?
Here is what Foster Mom says “As to the perfect family - it would be one that already has playful dogs. Active humans would be nice too, because once she realizes leashes are not tools of the devil, she'll love going on walks, hikes, and runs. Due to playful nature, if the family has kids it would be better if they were older kids”.

Basics:
Consuela PC- spayed female, schnauzer mix, 25 pounds, 1-2 years, good with dogs, good with cats, good with sturdy kids, playful, happy, active

Meet Ghost PC

Hi humans! I’m a very Good Girl Ghost German Shepherd Dog. Ghost is just my name though, I’m really here and can’t walk through doors and I don’t boo, I bork.

I did have a home at one time, but they couldn’t keep me anymore. But luckily for you, I’m socialized with kids from age tiny tot to big potato aka newborn to 12 years.

I enjoyed my kids and played with them every second that I could. And I’m also no fool. Only the smartest dogs know that if you befriend a child, the extra crumbs and nibbles of snacks are pretty much a given. Kids are sooo droppy ! YES!

In addition to the 4 human siblings, I lived with also two fur sibs. One was a big fluffy cat! And one was a Shih Tzu. Bless you! Ooops, I didn’t sneeze, that’s a dog breed. Shih Tzu!

I bonded better with the cat. However, I recently took a weekend vacation and stayed at a Kenneling place and got nothing but praise and good reports on how well I interacted with dogs my size.

My first family did all the puppyhood training so I’m house trained and know a few commands.

My favorite game is playing fetch and also tug of war. I also have experience being groomed by my previous human parents from hair cuts to nail trims and grind and do good.

You are going to want to scritch my noggin a lot and tell me “good girl”. I’m an all around very patient and kind good girl. Plus I have heard that my fur is very beautiful so you’ll want to pat me a lot and probably sing a little song while playing a drum solo on the side of my chest.

I’m so sad and will miss my family, so I hope I don’t have to wait too long at Dog House Art House before getting me a set of my very own kids again.

Basics:
Ghost PC- spayed female, 1 year, large, white, German Shepherd mix, good with dogs, good with cats, great with kids, affectionate, gentle, house trained, sweet

Location:
Fostered in Goliad, Texas, but can be transported out of state

Meet Dottie PC

She ain’t nuthin but a hound dog….maybe. I am a mix em up breed dog but have a smooth look and tricolour coat similar to a super sized Beagle or down sized English or Foxhound.

But the only thing I want to use my nose to hunt is that potato chip that rolled under the couch or that grasshopper hopping in the field of grass in your backyard.

I was abandoned by my previous owner and was so scared it took two whole days for me to trust another human and be caught.

Boy howdy am I glad to be safe and comfy with a Foster Mom. Who is waaaayyyy better than my abandoning family. She feeds me and is nice.

I enjoy outside time, other dogs, sleeping on the bed, and don’t mind cats. I really really enjoy having toys to play with.

Also, cuddles are my thing and please please only apply if you allow dogs to sleep in people beds, because I want to do that. Okay?

I do have one thing that I’m not into. Walking on a leash. No one ever showed me that before, so I do not enjoy it.

You’ll need some patience in teaching me if you want me to walk a lot on a leash. I do enjoy learning for pieces of CHEESE.

Since I don’t walk on a leash, please have a fenced yard for my potty breaks. I also use the yard for practice my galloping and running. Please have a yard.

Unfortunately since my previous owners did not give me heart worm prevention, I did test positive for Heartworm and Foster Mom started my treatment and can tell you more about that.

Basics:
Dottie PC - spayed female, 2 years, 40 lbs, tricolor, Hound (big Beagle or English or Foxhound), good with dogs, good with cats, sweet and affectionate
