Everyone knows David! David is one of those people who makes a community special.

David's a 43-year Mountain Valley Developmental Services adult participant, a devoted walker to end M.S., a dedicated Special Olympics and Challenge Aspen athlete and for years he served many local customers with his small business. He is a loyal Denver sports fan stemming back to his ballboy career at Denver South High School, and a genuine friend to just about everyone he meets.

When asked about his home here since the late 1970s, David says, “It’s a really special place!”

For years, David operated his own lawn service, pulling his mower behind his bicycle, or his mother Lois’s car. When his bike broke down, the community came together and bought him a new one. “I was thrilled!” he said.

He’s volunteered at Mountain Fair and Strawberry Days, was active in his church, the Carbondale Fire Department and built lasting friendships through his generosity. From being a very early production volunteer at GrassRoots TV to the more recent honorary marketing manager at Mountain Valley Greenhouse, David spread his gregarious spirit to everyone he knew. Today, David enjoys retirement and remembers his many adventures with joy.

When asked about his life experiences, David simply says, "I just really enjoyed it!"

You are invited to the Access Unbound Adaptive Sports Film Festival! Following the opening night screening of documentary "Full Circle" will be a panel discussion with MVDS adult participant, Zack Korbel and others! Friday, November 6, 6pm at the Colorado Snowsports Museum Hall of Fame in Vail. A monthly festival, the January screening will feature MVDS participant, Tim Sackbauer, and his film, "Arc'teryx", same time and place.
