The Camphill School Nurturing the minds, bodies, and spirits of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities

The Camphill School’s mission is to create wholeness for children and youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities through education and therapy in extended family living so that they may be better understood, they may more fully unfold their potential, and they may meaningfully participate in life. We offer residential and day academic and prevocational programs, as well as therapeutic care, for children in kindergarten through grade twelve. We also offer a Transition Program for young people ages eighteen to twenty-two. The Camphill School is a Waldorf school accredited by AWSNA and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools. Our school also is licensed by the Pennsylvania Departments of Education and Public Welfare and we are a Pennsylvania Approved Private School for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are part of the worldwide Camphill movement and the only Camphill community in North America for children.

Democracy was in action at our high school! 🗳️

Just like voters across the country, students recently cast their ballots to elect this year’s Student Council Representatives. After delivering energetic campaign speeches filled with promises of pizza parties, school dances, and fundraisers for local nonprofits, it was time to head to the polls.

Congratulations to all of our newly elected representatives! We can’t wait to see the positive impact you’ll make on our school community. 🎉

Our second and third graders are still feeling proud after a big adventure! ⛰️🍂

Together with the fifth graders, they made it all the way to the top of Hawk Mountain and enjoyed incredible views along the way.

And what better way to connect our adventure to learning than with the letter M? M is for Mountain! 🎨✏️ After returning from their trip, students had fun drawing their own mountains while reflecting on a memorable day outdoors.
