I remember getting my first bicycle with training wheels. It was beautiful. It was purple and white and had stripes. The tassels hung out the handle bars and a baskets set nestled in the front for me to carry my Michael Jackson doll, cabbage patch kid and my jaxxs. I had a banana seat so I could easily have my friends or cousins ride with me.

I don't really recall how the bike made it home. I believe my daddy carried it home all the way from Lionel Kiddie City in South Philadelphia. He's just amazing like that.

My bike was the second trip he made to and from Kiddie City that day. My mom had approved of one bike, it may have only been a budget for one bike, but somehow my dad ended up getting 3 bikes, if he had it, we had it. He's still my hero.

As the Executive Director I don't always "work" all of our program. However I Five Back's youth program Kidz Club in that same manner as my daddy did when deciding to get 3 bikes, walking across the city twice, and carrying them back. Unlike my dad having to figure it all out, I am blessed and afforded the opportunity to leverage the help of great community partners and amazing relationships/friendships to allow me to foster an environment where kidz can build bonds, develop character and experience edutaining activities that will create life long memories. Thank you Givinbak Bikes Laveen for helping us provide the kidz in our club with bikes.

In a quiet corner of Germany, bags of food are discreetly hung for those in need—the poor, the hungry, and the vulnerable. There are no public displays or fanfare, no cameras or videos to capture the act. It’s simply an unspoken gesture of goodwill and service, done with humility and compassion. This quiet kindness, absent of any need for recognition, serves as a powerful reminder that true generosity often goes unseen, yet its impact is deeply felt.

This Thursday, and every 3rd Thursday, we partner with Brighter View Foundation to distribute foodboxes.

Join us, 11am at 4331 W Bell Rd Glendale AZ 85308 to receive a box or lend a hand.
