Calling all poetry and nature lovers! Enjoy a screening of 'Mary Oliver: Save by the Beauty of World' (US; 2026; NR; 1h 31m) on Wednesday, October 28 from 7 to 8:45 pm at the Ridgewood Library. Celebrate the legacy of the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet and her connection to nature, beauty, and the wonder of everyday life. Featuring interviews with her close friends, never-before-seen personal photos, notebooks, and correspondence from her archive. Followed by audience discussion with Roberta Panjwani. A BOLD VISION FOR DOWNTOWN RIDGEWOOD

Here's a sneak peek at what the proposed Ridgewood Performing Arts Center will look like, courtesy of the Ridgewood Arts Foundation's architect. Isn't it gorgeous?!

I look forward to sharing the news - hopefully not too far down the road - that the Ridgewood Arts Foundation's $75 million grant application has been accepted by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, which is the first step toward building a premier arts and cultural destination in the heart of downtown Ridgewood.

When (fingers crossed!) this ambitious project becomes a reality, it will revitalize our Central Business District in a way that no other enterprise can anchor our downtown in today's online economy.

We are so grateful to the Ridgewood Arts Foundation, a nonprofit organization, for undertaking this tremendous initiative, including:

- Preparing the application for a $75 million grant through the New Jersey Economic Development Authority.
- Committing to raising the remaining funds to reach the estimated $90 million project cost.
- Taking responsibility for operating the Performing Arts Center through a professional management company.
- Reimbursing the Village of Ridgewood for its initial financial investment to get this project off the ground.

As I've said before, this is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Ridgewood. Stay tuned!

It was wonderful to see everyone at this smaller, more intimate musical gathering! We hope to have more such events - in various genres and locations - in the future.
