RIP "Sandy "Sandra Bartlett Obituary- services June 10
Sandra “Sandy” Ann Bartlett (née Graham), of Midland Park, NJ, and formerly of Ridgewood, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 18, 1939, in Trenton, NJ, to Harry Edward Graham and Helen Joseph (née McCloskey). Harry’s work relocated the family to Panama while he worked on the canal before settling in Texas. Sandy identified as a proud Texan, graduating from Brazosport High School in Freeport, Texas. In 1961, she earned a degree in Social Work from Saint Mary’s College located in Notre Dame, Indiana. During her time at Saint Mary’s, Sandy met William Charles Bartlett, whom she married. Together, they shared 63 years of marriage.
After completing her Social Work degree, Sandy dedicated herself to creating a welcoming and supportive home—not only for her own growing family, but for others in need. She frequently opened her doors to foster children, friends of her children, foreign exchange students, Up with People performers, and anyone who found themselves down on their luck. Throughout their moves from Chicago to Maine and Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Sandy’s warmth and hospitality left a lasting impression on many. She was known for signing notes and cards “love Mom 2” for those who sought comfort and refuge in the Bartlett home.
Sandy was an active member of her community participating in Jamboree and College Club Capers. As a parishioner at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, she served for many years as a Eucharistic Minister. Sandy also served as a long-time crossing guard in the Village of Ridgewood. Additionally, she was a member of various Bridge groups, where she and her husband Bill formed enduring friendships.
Sandy is survived by her children: Barbara Bartlett Gomes, Bill III (Monika), son-in-law Ralph Stanton, Jacquie Luthcke (Wayne), and Chris (Valerie). She was a proud grandmother to Derrick Stanton, Elena Bartlett (fiancée Matt Heale), Andrew Gomes (Tylee), Caitlyn Gensure (Steve), Bill Bartlett IV, Rebecca Bartlett, and Dana Gomes. Sandy was also the great-grandmother of Madison Greene, Dylan and Casey Gensure, and Carson, Colton, and Liliana Gomes. Her brothers, Dr. David Graham (Dr. Janet Butel) and Brian Graham (Jane Churchill), also survive her. Sandy was predeceased by her husband, parents, and daughter Cindy Stanton.
Sandy was adamant that her body be donated to science. As such, the family will hold a memorial service on June 10th between 3 and 6 pm, at Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood to honor her memory. https://feeneyfuneralhome.tributecenteronline.com/obituaries/Sandra-Bartlett?obId=48518617 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sandy Bartlett’s honor may be made to The Lupus Foundation at http://support.lupus.org/goto/SandyBartlett
