PROTEST AND LEAFLETING
FOR CANADA GEESE

This Saturday!
Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades
Medical Center

Date: Saturday, June 20, 2026
Time: 1:00PM-2:15PM
(rain or shine)
Location: 7600 River Rd.,
North Bergen, NJ 07047
We will be protesting on the grassy public space area on the corner of the Hackensack
Meridian sign up to the bus transit shelter
in front of the hospital.

Parking is across from the hospital. There is a Walgreen’s, Starbucks and Bank of America
parking lots on River Rd, which turns into
County Road or can pay for parking in the
hospital parking lot.

History:
Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center (HMPMC) is granting the USDA access to their property, behind the Hospital towards the Hudson River, to round up and GAS the geese.HMHPMC can DENY the USDA access to the hospital property
and use nonlethal solutions.

In 2025, 11 Geese were KILLED
In 2024, 23 Geese were KILLED
In 2023, 18 Geese were KILLED
In 2022, 18 Geese were KILLED
Total 70 Geese have been KILLED

Animal Protection League of New Jersey has been reaching out to the officials at Meridian Health Palisades General Medical Center in North Bergen, since 2022. President Lisa Iachetti refuses to work with APLNJ. Our emails and phone calls are ignored. The North Bergen Health Officer even contacted Lisa Iachetti to discuss nonlethal alternatives, but Ms. Iachetti refused
to discuss any nonlethal
measures with the Health Officer.
Ms.Iachetti has chosen to stay with the USDA’s Goose KILLING program under the
GUISE of public safety.

Ask these officials to implement a
NO feeding Ban.
Geese are constantly being fed on the grounds outside the hospital cafeteria, through the window, the walkway, lunch areas by the helipad
and along the river.
This is a huge problem attracting geese to the area, which ultimately causes their deaths.
Ask them to deny the USDA access to the grounds of MHPMC.

Ask Lisa Iachetti to work with Animal Protection League of New Jersey on humane and
nonlethal solutions.
KILLING has not and will not solve
Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center’s conflicts with Canada Geese.

Thank you to all the wonderful Geese
Advocates, who came out today, to protest the GASSING of the Canada Geese at
Tribeca Oven, located at 447 and 425 Gotham Parkway, Carlstadt NJ.

History:
Tribeca Oven, Carlstadt
In 2022, 30 Geese were GASSED to
Death on the property of Tribeca Oven.
The current director at that time,
allowed the USDA onto the property through an agreement with Teterboro Airport and the USDA,
to round up and KILL the Geese.

APLNJ then worked with
the Sr. Human Resources Manager
to implement nonlethal methods.
In 2023, 2024 & 2025 Tribeca Oven was
nonlethal until a company management
change in 2026.
Tribeca Oven was failing in sales and
The CEO decided to fire the old management team and hire a new team.
The new team quickly reverted
back to KILLING.

In 2026, APLNJ discovered a cooperative service agreement, through the Freedom of Information Act(FOIA),with Tribeca Oven and the USDA.
The contract was signed in March by the new management team, allowing the Geese to be GASSED to death during
the molt period.

The USDA’s Geese KILLING program
needs to be repeated year after year,
costing the company thousands of dollars.
It will not get to the root causes.

Ask these individuals to work with Animal Protection League of NJ to implement a comprehensive HUMANE nonlethal program, including habitat modification. This is the most effective long-term solution, which will discourage geese from inhabiting an area in the first place.

Tell these individuals to CANCEL the USDA contract; which can be CANCELLED at anytime.

Tell these individuals to ask employees to STOP feeding the Geese and to clean up the dumpsters in the back of the buildings, which are overrun with bread debris. This is creating resident Geese and ultimately causing their death.

The GASSING of Geese occurs one day during the molt period - which is every year from mid-June to early July. At this time the Geese lose their flight feathers, becoming flightless.
The USDA is hired to round up the
Geese during the molt period
whereupon they are shoved, alive, into a gas chamber and GASSED to death.
It takes 45 minutes before the
Geese suffocate and die.
Their lungs burn from the inside out.
This is the highest level of animal cruelty.

KILLING has not and will not solve
Tribeca Oven’s conflicts with Canada Geese.
