Founded in 1967 to provide all undergraduate students with the opportunity to ride and compete on their college or university's equestrian team. IHSA is now the largest and oldest collegiate equestrian organization of its kind in North America.

During HORSETOBER we’re challenging YOU to help weave together the largest celebration of the horse-human connection ever organized.

🎉 In the News! 🎉
Congratulations to Skidmore College on winning High-Point Team at their most recent show on October 24.

🏆Senior Isa Jensen was High-Point Rider, earning second in Open Equitation Over Fences and first in Open Equitation on the Flat!

🏆Senior Carolyn Albright qualified for Regional Finals after earning second in Horseware Ireland Intermediate Equitation Over Fences.

🐴Tommy was named Horse of the Show, helping his riders earn 10 blue ribbons!

🔊 Nominations are now being accepted for the IHSA Quiet Champion Award!

📝 This award recognizes an IHSA rider who may not have achieved significant success in competition but demonstrates, through their actions, a commitment to their horsemanship and their team. Nominations should be submitted by the team coach. Coaches may submit one nomination per discipline. The award will be presented annually to one rider per discipline at the IHSA National Championship.

Applications are now open for Intercollegiate Equestrian Foundation Scholarships!

📝 The IEF awards multiple general scholarships each year to deserving undergraduate students. Winners are announced in conjunction with the IHSA National Championship Horse Show.

🎉 In The News! 🎉

🏆 Congratulations to Alvernia University's All That Jazz named the 2026 Thoroughbred of the Year Honoree!

"Jazz is truly talented to adapt so well to every rider who gets on his back. He is a kind-hearted guy who tries his best to take care of every rider. He's the horse that comes around once in a lifetime, and we are so fortunate to have him with the Alvernia University team," said Eryn Ziegler, Jazz's owner and Equestrian Team Head Coach at Alvernia University.

🐴 Jazz has also been voted IHSA Zone 3 Region 4 Horse of the Year for the last two years.
