Why now?
I've carried this story for almost twenty years, and I think the simplest answer is obedience.
Over time, I've come to realize that maybe my story was never meant to be kept just for me. If sharing what God has taught me along the way can help or encourage someone else, then I want to be willing to share it.
The gift of life God gave me is something I never want to take for granted. After being told I had months to live, I'm deeply grateful for every year I've been given.
For a long time, I've felt a quiet nudge to share my story. A nudge that, over the years, has only grown stronger.
Recently, I entered a writing contest through Cascade Christian Writers and was surprised and honored to win first place in the memoir category. For me, it felt like a gentle confirmation from the Lord that I was following His lead.
