MEET OUR NEW ADDITION
Hello, my name is Randall. I’m 9 years old. I’m a very happy and sociable boy. My favorite food is guacamole. I have the dream of being a great soccer player. I live with my mom who currently doesn’t work, and her partner who supports us. He works in construction. My father moved to another country. I don’t know much about him. My environment is full of violence, drug abuse and alcohol. We live with my grandma. There are constant discussions and fights. My uncles are drug addicts. I’m very insecure and vulnerable. I want to be part of the House of Refuge to get out of this environment and develop habits that are different than my family’s.

MEET OUR NEW ADDITION
Hello, my name is Indalieth, I’m 9 years old. I’m a very extrovert girl, happy and social. My favorite color is red. During my time off I like to play with dolls. I also play on the streets and ride my bicycle. When I grow up I want to be a police. I live with my mom Selena, my grandma Reyna and my little sister in a room made with old zinc. My mom works helping my grandma make tortillas everyday. They support our household income. I don’t know my dad. My grandma has a partner but he doesn’t live at home. I like to go to school, but I have problems with reading, it’s hard. I want to be in the House of Refuge to have a safe place, not wandering alone in the streets. And I hope to change the mentality of the environment I live in, to not follow bad paths.

This testimony is a powerful example of how God is using the House of Refuge to pierce the darkness of the sin filled barrio that our children live in. This father's life has been restored. He was an alcoholic who slept on the streets and his family was broken. We have been working with Yeremit, (his son), and through him we have been connecting with his father, inviting him to activities we have at the House of Refuge, educating and preaching to him. He now attends church on a regular basis. He is working to support His Family and we have seen an improvement in Yeremit’s life as well.

MEET OUR NEW ADDITION
Hello, my name is Mia. I’m 5 years old. I’m a shy and reserved girl. I like the color blue. I like coloring at school and sharing with my friends. I live with my mom Angela, my dad and siblings. My mom makes tortillas with my grandma everyday. Our income is low. My dad and uncles are drug consumers and they rarely bring money home. We live at my dad’s mother’s house. The environment there and in my neighborhood is very violent. There are a lot of drugs and alcohol which makes me nervous and makes it hard for me to communicate. I wish I could be in the House of Refuge to feel safe and change the environment I live in.

Healthcare Is Important for Our Children
In a country where quality healthcare is often hard to come by for the underprivileged. our children receive both medical and dental - thanks to your giving!

********PHYSICAL & DENTAL CHECKUP July 2026********
We met with the doctor to check on our lab results and receive treatment for our general health. After the appointment we received our medications for our different needs.
The dentist cleaned our teeth and some had to get fillings done. Some of us needed extractions too. Going to the dentist is not very common in Nicaragua because it is very expensive.
