The moment is finally here... Biscuit's commercial debut! Seeing it on TV for the first time was unreal! I squealed in sheer excitement!
Some backstory for those who may not know: we were contacted asking if one of our hamsters could be used for a commercial appearance. We weren't sure what we were getting into as I've NEVER been contacted for anything of the sort before, and with a phone call confirming legitimacy, we found out it was indeed a real acting gig! We knew our Biscuit would be perfect for the role and he absolutely was! We loaded Biscuit up on a Tuesday morning in August and headed to Columbus for the commercial. We drove up to a beautiful house buzzing with camera crew, director, actors, editors, etc. It was the real deal and everyone was so excited to meet Biscuit! He quite literally "stole the show". To make Biscuit as comfortable as possible, we brought him in a 200qt bin cage setup similarly to his 75 gallon setup at home. He stayed in there most of the time, especially inbetween shots. We stayed with him the whole time and there was so many good footage of Biscuit the director literally said "he's got it, keep rolling!" So many laughs and general awe over him was incredible, but no one is more proud than us... his moms! Biscuit was as perfect as a hamster could be shooting a commercial and I sincerely mean that! Everyone was impressed and seeing the end result was awesome! As you can see in the beginning of the commercial, they even used his actual name!
Some backstory on Biscuit himself: he was an owner surrender earlier this year and we quickly fell in love with him. He was so sweet, so well natured that the thought of putting him up for adoption was a hard pill to swallow for us. Sometimes the incredibly special ones are meant to stay, and he did! Biscuit has undergone a move since his commercial debut and has done some minor meet and greets since as well! Everyone wants to meet the hamster star, and he won over their hearts as well with his calm sweet demeanor! He has been teaching my very young nieces about hamsters and how to safely handle them. I genuinely cannot say enough good things about him! He really is such a special hamster and while his general age is unknown, I hope I have more time with him. He has taken up such a monumental space in our hearts 🥰
