Exciting things are happening in Georgetown! 💙🏗️ We’re thrilled to see construction underway on the new Georgetown YMCA and one step closer to bringing this incredible space to the community. The future is looking bright! 🙌

Construction is underway on Georgetown's new YMCA facility following a successful local fundraising effort. 💪

The Georgetown YMCA Founders Group, Sport Clips and community members raised over $6 million to help fund the recreation center. The city is contributing $10 million through voter-approved bonds, granting partial ownership of the building.

Crews are working on base grading, excavation and underground utilities for the 55,000-square-foot recreation center. The main facility is planned to open in January 2028, with the outdoor pool following in May 2028.

🥞💙 Five years of pancakes, community, and camp memories!

We celebrated the 5th annual Camp Was a Flip Pancake Breakfast at YMCA Camp Brightwell, bringing campers, board members, staff, and community supporters together to celebrate another incredible summer of camp.

What started as a fun tradition has become a special way to close out the season—with our Board of Directors trading the boardroom for the griddle to cook and serve breakfast to our campers! 🥞

This year’s celebration was especially meaningful as we looked ahead to an exciting new chapter for the Y and our Georgetown community. With the future YMCA becoming a reality, we’re reminded that moments like these are about so much more than pancakes—they’re about community, connection, and creating opportunities for generations to come.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Camp Brightwell, our campers, and the future of the Y. Here’s to five years of Camp Was a Flip and many more memories ahead! 🎉
