✨Chef Spotlights pt. 2!✨👩‍🍳 Introducing one of our amazing volunteers, Chris!

“Greetings! My name is Christopher Dugan and I recently moved to Geneva. I work at Heggerty (a literacy curriculum) and work as a literacy coach with Geneva 2030. I also love cooking Italian.

Most of the recipes I make were passed down from my Italian great, great grandmother who immigrated to Newark, NJ many years ago.

The following is a quote that highlights my family’s perspective of cooking and is a component of Italian cuisine.

“The cucina povera… is based on the intelligent use of leftovers and the seasonal produce of the land.” Anna Del Conte, 1990.

Working at this kitchen has inspired me in so many ways, in addition to working with some amazing people! I look forward to continue using the wonderful produce, farms, and land around the Finger Lakes so we can serve to our community.”

✨Chef Spotlights! ✨Each Sunday, a volunteer chef cooks a wonderful Pay What You Can meal for Geneva residents at 143 Wadsworth St. Shawn Marie is one of our amazing volunteers! 👩‍🍳
“I started volunteering with the Community Kitchen in the fall of 2024.

I was motivated by wanting to make a positive impact in my community, and my love language is food.

It’s been an awesome experience getting to know and connect with my neighbors and folks I may never have met, otherwise.

The most radical thing you can do to create change in your community is participating! Come join us on Sundays!”
