Housing discrimination is not always obvious, and LGBTQ+ individuals in New York are protected under fair housing laws.

Discrimination can include:

❌ Selective enforcement of rules
❌ Denial of housing based on real or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity

Leslie Ramírez is our next Staff Spotlight! 🎉

Leslie became the Administrator of our Geneva Office last spring and has fully embraced all that the position can be ever since!

As one of the larger offices, there are many factors to consider in her role in the Geneva Office. She has made processes move more smoothly, jumped in to learn all she can, and has the ultimate "can-do" attitude. She recently volunteered to help with a LawNY Housing Conference and was an integral part of the team that put that event together.

According to her colleagues, Leslie has the perfect balance of eagerness and drive to assist in projects big or small and leaves a lasting impression on everyone that works with her. Taking any opportunity to work within a team, Leslie's unmatched organization skills and positive outlook makes everyone involved feel productive and valued. Leslie is diligent, kind, and understanding, she approaches projects and tasks dynamically, and is constantly looking for ways to improve life here at the Geneva office. Besides all of that, Leslie is a wonderful person, who cares deeply about our clients and our community.
