Rotary Club of Geneseo, NY Rotary districts support these clubs led by district govs. Geneseo Rotary (Club 4780 of District 7120) was founded in 1925.

Rotary carries out our most meaningful service work through local clubs that reflects their own officers and enjoy automony within the framework of Rotary International's constitution and bylaws. Its membership consisted of only men until the late 1980's when the first woman was inducted. Since that time 11 women have assumed the role of club President. Today, women make up 60% of our clubs member

ship. Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Rotary club membership represents a cross-section of the community's business and professional men and women. The world's Rotary clubs meet weekly and are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds.

We are excited to welcome Jillian Mitchell as our newest Geneseo Rotary member. Jillian recently graduated from SUNY Geneseo and is now working for the college fulltime as a Communications and Security Specialist.

Jillian was first introduced to Rotary in Nunda, New York where she became active in her high school Interact Club. Doris Marsh and Wilma Willey from Nunda Rotary brought her in. Once she went to SUNY Geneseo for college, she was active in Rotaract, eventually becoming the club President. During her tenure there she brought the Rotaract Club back to life by helping and coordinating many community service projects. She was able to attract many SUNY student volunteers for those projects.

Since working for the college, she is serving as a co- advisor for the Geneseo Rotaract Club.
