Homesteads for Hope

Homesteads for Hope Homesteads for Hope was founded in 2013 by a Mother and Daughter team raising a young adult with autism.

Homesteads for Hope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community farm nestled on 55 acres along the historic Erie Canal in Rochester, NY, where people of all abilities find purpose, belonging, and growth through hands-on experiences in nature. Today, we are the first intentional agricultural style community. Our stakeholders continue to seek and work towards a sustainable approach to learning, working, livi

ng and growing in Western NY. This unique community farm encompasses 55 acres on the beautiful wide water inlet of the Erie Canal. This space offers something for everyone and we encourage all to take part in the evolution. The Farm strives at cultivating effortless inclusion, while fostering independence, promoting individualized skills training, socialization, self-awareness and career exploration on our organically practiced farm. For the future, we continue to craft collaborative partnerships to create the full vision of a sustainable and inclusive agritourism venue. With gracious community support, we are developing enterprises on the farm, including our 2019 Farm Store, a 2020 CSA Food Share and is currently fundraising for a Café & Bakery on the Farm. Our first field harvest has hit store shelves! Green Butter lettuce, Redleaf lettuce, and Bokchoy- $3 a head.

Delicious and healthy - our produce is grown using natural practices that prioritize soil health and biodiversity. When protection is needed we use eco-friendly organically approved sprays rather than conventional synthetic chemicals- we grow tasty veggies and herbs that you can feel good eating or serving to your family. Best part- everyone and anyone can shop at the farm store- no membership needed!

On top of our first harvest of the season, we are also expanding store hours today- we are now open on Sundays and extended hours for Thursdays at the Farm!

One of the most exciting signs of the season? Our first harvests are arriving.

Fresh from the fields, beginning on Monday, we will have Green Butter Lettuce and Red Oakleaf Lettuce available in the market for $3 per head. It's always a milestone when the first vegetables of the season begin making their way from the field to the farm stand, and we're excited to share them with you.

The market is also stocked with flowers, vegetable plants, fresh herbs, and newly available dahlia plants for $5 each.

Beginning June 8, our Happy Harvest Market moves into its extended summer hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday: 10am–6pm
Thursday: 10am–8pm
Saturday & Sunday: 10am–4pm

Tonight we’re open til 6, and tomorrow 10-4, come grab some dahlias before we sell out!
