Popcorn sales have kicked off! We sold out last weekend on our first day of storefronts! 🙌🏼 More sales lead to more funds for your scout and our pack. This helps reduce the overall cost for our families when it comes to camping, uniform, and supplies. Scouts will be out selling in neighborhoods and in front of stores so chat up our friendly scouts!

Join me in saying congrats to Luka Herrera for earning every merit badge possible and making Eagle Scout 🦅👏

Shared from Heart of America Council - BSA & thanks Keri Boehm for tagging me!
"This Kansas Eagle Scout is being honored for a feat that has been accomplished by less than one-half of one-percent of Scouts. During a special Court of Honor last night, Troop 522's Luka Herrera was recognized for earning every merit badge possible.

But maybe even more rare, he was also presented the National Medal for Outdoor Achievement. The award was established in 2010 with only about 300 Scouts ever earning the award across the country. It is described as the “highest recognition a Scout can earn for exemplary achievement, experience and skill in multiple areas of outdoor endeavor."

Luka was also presented 6 National Outdoor Awards for Camping, Aquatics, Conservation, Hiking, Riding, and Adventure.

Congratulations! You are a true leader in our community and a Scout that others will always look up to!"

September is National Preparedness Month! Starting to prep for emergencies can seem daunting, but breaking it down into steps makes it manageable. Here’s how to get started:
1. Know Your Risks: Identify the disasters likely in your area.
2. Make a Plan: Set up evacuation routes, emergency contacts, and communication methods.
3. Build a Kit: Include essentials like water, food, first aid, and personal items.
4. Secure Your Home: Prepare your home by securing heavy furniture and stocking up on supplies.
5. Stay Informed: Sign up for alerts and learn basic first aid.
6. Practice: Regularly review and update your plan.
Begin small and build over time—being prepared can make all the difference. www.knowhat2do.com
