🌟 Staff Professional Development Day 🌟

Today, the Boys & Girls Club of Garfield is closed for staff professional development.

At BGCG, we care deeply about the mental health and social-emotional well-being of our youth. Supporting our members begins with ensuring our staff have the tools, knowledge, and confidence to meet the ever-changing needs of our kids. 💙

We’re grateful to Bergen’s Promise and the Bergen County Department of Health Services for leading today’s Youth Mental Health First Aid Training.

This hands-on training equips adults who work with youth—like our teachers, youth development professionals, and leadership team members—with the ability to:

✅ Recognize risk factors and warning signs of mental health challenges in adolescents
✅ Use a five-step action plan to support a young person in need
✅ Connect youth and their families to appropriate mental health resources

Just like CPR, Youth Mental Health First Aid is a life-saving skill that builds stronger, more resilient communities and helps reduce the stigma around mental health.

A big thank you to Bergen’s Promise for their partnership and for empowering our team to better serve Garfield’s youth. 💪💚

What an unforgettable evening at our 3rd Annual Bourbon & Cigar Benefit in support of the Boys & Girls Club of Garfield!

Thank you to everyone who joined us — from long-time supporters to new friends — for making the night such a success. Your generosity and good spirits help us continue serving more than 1,300 Garfield youth and families each year with mentorship, academic support, and opportunities that build brighter futures.

If you joined us, you’ve likely already received a thank-you email from our team — but we wanted to share our appreciation again here. Your support truly makes a difference.
