Learning doesn't happen in rows of desks at Learning Lab. It happens in conversations, questions, encouragement, and relationships.

This summer, adult students are working one-on-one with volunteers to build English skills, prepare for work, support their children's education, and reach goals that matter deeply to them.

Every lesson begins with a simple belief: people learn best when someone believes in them.

❤️ Thank you to the volunteers who show up week after week to walk alongside our students.

Tiny caps. Big milestones. 🎓✨

Some of these little learners are heading to kindergarten, and some are stepping into their next preschool adventure — but every one of them is growing in confidence, curiosity, and joy. We’re so proud of all they’ve learned this year and so excited for what comes next. 💛

Classes are back in session and every new semester begins with possibility!

At Learning Lab, we see every day how education can open doors — not only for individual students, but for entire families and communities.

We are excited for the goals, milestones, and celebrations this semester will bring.

Every day at Learning Lab looks a little different.

Some students are preparing for the GED.
Some are learning English.
Some are studying for U.S. Citizenship.
Some are helping their children build a strong start in school and life.

What connects them all is the courage to keep learning and the community that surrounds them along the way.

Learning happens everywhere.

In Family Literacy, play is more than fun. It supports communication, problem solving, confidence, collaboration, and early literacy development.

These moments of curiosity and exploration help build strong foundations for future learning, both in school and beyond.

In one classroom, you might hear multiple languages, stories from across the world, and families helping one another navigate life in a new community.

Learning Lab students come from dozens of countries and bring incredible strengths, experiences, resilience, and knowledge with them. We are proud to be a place where families can continue learning while building connection and community here in the Treasure Valley.

One of the things that makes Learning Lab unique is the number of caring adults who show up consistently for students and families.

Moments like this may look simple, but they matter deeply. Sitting beside a child, encouraging creativity, practicing conversation, and building trust all support learning in meaningful ways.

Thank you to the volunteers and community members who help make Learning Lab a welcoming place to grow.

There is something special about watching community happen around a table.

At Learning Lab, literacy is never just about worksheets or test scores. It is about connection, confidence, conversation, and belonging. Even our youngest learners are building the social and emotional foundations that support lifelong learning.

As we move through our short summer pause between semesters, we’re grateful for the families, volunteers, staff, and supporters who make spaces like this possible every day. 💛
