A Change of Focus
“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” – Colossians 3:17
There is a spiritual revival of sorts taking place in the United States. Whether it is genuine or not, only time will tell. Many are looking to Jesus for meaning, purpose, or just to see if He is real. The religious community will present many forms of who He is, and all of them will not be a true representation of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The world needs you to be who YOU say you are. Those of the world looking to Jesus need YOU to live your confession (1 Timothy 6:12). We members of the body of Christ are not called to be spectators – we are ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20).
Here are a few suggestions to help you make a difference:
Plan to be present for each assembly and event.
Be here early – remember, “Early is on time, and on time is late.”
Pray every day for the souls who are in our sphere of influence.
Invite as many people as you know to come to worship, class, and events.
Be proactive and positive in sharing your love and commitment to the Lord’s church.
Maintain a positive attitude and demeanor (in other words, SMILE!!).
Express thankfulness to God for all who are present in our assemblies.
Speak to every visitor you see, regardless of their age.
Remember – the lesson(s) heard may be the only Bible visitors hear at all.
Remember – you may be the closest thing to Jesus a person ever sees.
Remember – Everything you say and do is to be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, with thanksgiving.
With a change of focus, together, with God’s help, we can make a difference in the world.
Come, let us learn and grow together.
