Thursday night ride at 27 1/4 road motocross track, Thursday May 28th at 6:30pm. Come out and ride some laps with us or brush up on technical skills on the enduro track!

What a day for our trail crew above 18 road! The MTRA crew worked hard today clearing 34 downed trees, and repairing some washed out section of trail. Due to the area this will be a never-ending endeavor, and therefore the MTRA has adopted these trails to ensure that they stay in great condition for more smiles per miles!

The BLM would also like to thank everyone for respecting the seasonal closure and waiting for these amazing trails to officially open!

Additionally, the Sarlacc Attack mountain bike race will be next weekend, May 9th and May 10th. We highly recommend avoiding the area that weekend. The MTRA will be volunteering on course to help support their participants and show how much we care for our trails.

Trail Work Opportunities!

This week the MTRA will be looking for volunteers Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Friday May 1st we will be teaming up with the GJ BLM crew at the Coal Gulch Corrals 9am sharp to clear the Sarlacc through Cloud City trails. Saw not required, but bring work clothes, gloves, safety glasses, water, lunch and snacks. Contact Nick Franzitta to rsvp at [email protected].

Saturday May 2nd is the Ed Ruland Memorial Desert Cleanup. Sign in starts at 830am at the GJ MX Track. We recommend bringing a truck and/or trailer for this one, and possibly a second set of hands to help lift heavier items into your trash transport.

Moto Meetup: Rabbit Valley, April 12, 2026

Join us for a fun ride through Rabbit Valley, epic views with a mix of slickrock, sand, and some rocky trails

Meet at 9:30a, Kickstands up at 10:00a at the Main Rabbit Valley lot next to the exit.

This will be a fun 40 mile romp through the best of Rabbit Valley including Western Rim with it’s epic views and fun obstacles, before wrapping up to the top of the ridge, under the freeway, and hitting a fast stretch of trail back to the trucks.

Pivot Brandz is hosting a bikes and coffee meetup this Saturday from 9a-11a at their shop on Main Street, downtown Grand Junction. They will have limited moto parking available in front of their shop on main street if you are early enough. There will be coffee, donuts and prize giveaways! Come out and support Pivot Brandz and the moto community!

The countdown is on! Restration sign in is Friday October 24th! Time to start locking in your rides before they start to fill up! Pre-registering for the rally helps us notify our guides how many riders they need to plan for. It will also ensure that we have your swag bag ready for you at registration sign in on Friday afternoon!

Need some encouragement?
- Smokey Bonez BBQ food truck will be out with us for Friday afternoon during registration.
- Armando Tacos food truck will be out for the day on Saturday.
- We will also have Hillbilly Riot LIVE brought to you by Monumental Mayhem Productions on Saturday evening at 6:00 so grab your chair, cooler, and friends for some fun entertainment!
- Swag bags will include your wristband, t-shirt, discounts at local restaurants and other locations.
- In the spirit of Halloween we will also be having a costume contest! This of course is open to anyone even if you did not sign up for the rally.
- Saturday afternoon there will be a slow race contest to see who has the best balance, signups for the slow race will be at the registration booth on Friday afternoon.
- ALSO at the hub, we will have local vendors, yard games, campfires, smores of course, our own FREE motocross track for anyone to ride, and lots of new dirt bike friends to share your ride stories with!

Thank you all volunteers who helped show up yesterday to help with the 27 1/4 road trash cleanup. The whole crew were able to fill both roll off dumpsters full of desert trash, 1 utility trailer full of tires, and another utility trailer full of pallets and scrap wood by 11:30. We were glad to be finished by the time the hurricane was moving in. Thanks again to the Western Slope ATV Association, Grand Mesa Jeep Club, Grand Junction BLM, and all others who were able to participate in this event!
