🍂Save the Date: Fall Healing Art Support Group🎨

October may feel a long way off, but we wanted to share this opportunity now so you have plenty of time to plan ahead.

Join us for our 4-week Healing Art Support Group on Wednesdays, October 7th–28th from 5:30–7:00 PM. The meeting location will be provided upon registration.

This group is open to adult survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault who reside in Warren County. Registration is required.

While art is part of each session, this is so much more than an art group. The creative activities simply serve as a gentle icebreaker and a way to explore healing, emotions, and personal experiences. There is no artistic talent or experience required.

Whether you'd like to share your story with others who understand, reflect quietly on your own journey, create something with your hands, or simply listen and connect, you are welcome here. Participation looks different for everyone, and all levels of comfort are respected.

If you'd like to register or have questions, please call 540-635-2302 and ask for Aliyha, or email [email protected].

Healing doesn't have to happen alone. We hope you'll join us this fall. đź’ś

Dear Community - It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of the Phoenix Project family, our beloved long-time volunteer, Kathy Warren.

For more than a decade, Kathy gave so generously of her time, creativity, and heart to our mission. She never sought recognition—she simply saw a need and quietly stepped in to help.

Many in our community admired the beautiful gift baskets she lovingly created each year for our annual “Wine Pull” fundraiser. Survivors and families benefited from her willingness to care for children during support groups, allowing parents the opportunity to heal and connect. She brought joy to our staff by hosting a Christmas craft day, where we laughed together while making “pinecone gnomes”. She could also be found at countless community events, including National Night Out, always greeting others with her warm smile and kind spirit.

Most recently, Kathy helped line Main Street with teal ribbons during Sexual Assault Awareness Month, then personally delivered awareness bags to local merchants to help spread hope, education, and support throughout our community.

Kathy reminded us that making a difference doesn't always happen through grand gestures. Sometimes it happens one child cared for, one ribbon tied, one basket assembled, one volunteer shift, or one act of kindness at a time. Her quiet compassion touched countless lives, many of whom will never know her name—but have been forever impacted by her generosity.

Kathy, thank you for sharing your gifts, your time, and your heart with Phoenix Project and with our community. Your legacy will continue to inspire us, and your kindness will not be forgotten.
Please join us in keeping Kathy's family and loved ones in your thoughts during this difficult time. If you would like to learn more about Kathy's life or leave a message of condolence, her obituary can be found here: https://maddoxfuneralhome.com/kathryn-e-kathy-warren/

Rest peacefully, Kathy. You made our community brighter simply by being in it. We miss you. 💜🩵
