💧 **Looking for a simple way to support the Garden? We’ve got one!** 🌱

We know that not everyone can come out and volunteer in the garden—especially when Texas decides to turn the thermostat up to **“surface of the sun.”** ☀️🥵 And when winter rolls around, working outside isn’t always much more appealing! 🥶

But our amazing volunteers are out there **year-round**, planting, weeding, harvesting, maintaining the garden, and helping us grow fresh produce for our community. And all that hard work makes them **THIRSTY!** 💦

One simple way you can support our volunteers is by donating **bottled water** and/or Gatorade.

💧 Coming to volunteer? Bring a case or pack of water with you!
💧 Can’t stay and volunteer? Drop some water off for us!
💧 Know someone headed our way? Send a case along with them!
💧 Host a collection at your office, neighborhood, church, book club, etc!

It may seem like a small donation, but we go through **a LOT of water**, especially during these hot summer months, and every case helps us keep our volunteers hydrated and going strong.

💋🐰 **Happy National Kiss & Make Up Day!** 🌱

Apparently, “other duties as assigned” at St. Arbor Community Garden could include **kissing the local wildlife.** 😂

Now, we’ll admit…we **don’t exactly appreciate** our neighborhood bunnies helping themselves to the produce we work so hard to grow. 🥬🥕😑 But every once in a while, they remind us that they *can* be pretty darn cute.

While working in the garden, one of our volunteers discovered this tiny baby bunny hiding among the plants—and in honor of National Kiss & Make Up Day, it looks like a temporary truce was called. 💋🐇

Don’t get too comfortable, little one…we’re still watching our veggies. 👀🥬😂

If we’re not at the garden, we’re probably somewhere talking about the garden! 🌱💚

A couple of weeks ago, we had the opportunity to participate in the Ally Bank Community Connections event, and what an awesome day it was! We loved connecting with some amazing members of the community, sharing our love for St. Arbor, and meeting some potential new volunteers.

We shared a little gardening knowledge, answered questions, and handed out seed packets to employees who stopped by our table. 🌻🥕🌿

Thinking about getting started with gardening? Come by the garden—we’ve got seeds to share! You never know…you might just discover that your thumb is greener than you thought. 😉

Fun day in the garden yesterday! 🌱💚

We had lots of students rolling up their sleeves and getting their hands dirty to make a difference in our community. I absolutely love working with enthusiastic, inquisitive students—they keep us on our toes, ask the best questions, and bring an energy that helps keep our garden growing and thriving!

Who knows? We may have planted a few seeds in the garden AND in some future gardeners. 🌻👩🏽‍🌾👨🏽‍🌾

🥔 **Happy National Potato Day!** 🥔

Today we’re celebrating one of the humblest heroes of the garden — the **POTATO!** 🎉. And this year we’ve grown over 700lbs of them!

Mashed, baked, roasted, fried, smashed… is there anything a potato *can’t* do?! 😂

But potatoes are more than comfort food. They’re hearty, versatile, nutritious, and a great reminder of why we do what we do at **St. Arbor Community Garden**. 🌱 Every seed planted and every harvest gathered helps us put fresh, locally grown food into the hands of families in our community.

So today, give a little love to the mighty spud! 🥔💚

🍉 **Well… apparently the word is out.** 🐿️🐰🦝

We’ve been patiently watching our watermelons grow, waiting for the perfect time to harvest them.

Unfortunately, **somebody else decided they were ready first.** 😂

A few of our garden critters helped themselves to an early watermelon tasting — no reservation, no donation, and they definitely didn’t clean up after themselves!

While we’re a little sad to lose some of our beautiful melons, we have to admit… **at least somebody thought they were delicious!** 🍉😋

Just another day at St. Arbor Community Garden, where sometimes we’re feeding the community… and sometimes we’re feeding the neighborhood wildlife. 🌱💚

Today we celebrate the birthday of Katrina Hunter!

Katrina faithfully serves as our organization's Secretary, and her keen attention to detail makes her the perfect person for the role. Her dedication, commitment, and excellence help keep our organization running smoothly, and we are truly better because of her service.

Katrina has been a joy to serve alongside, and we are grateful for all she does. Please join me in wishing her a very Happy Birthday! We hope your day is filled with joy, laughter, and many blessings. 🎉🎂🥳

We hosted our very first cooking class, and we had 14 amazing chefs who were ready for the challenge. Functional Dietitian Teacy Woods guided everyone through preparing a nutritious breakfast hash packed with fresh vegetables and herbs straight from the garden.

Our participants learned about the incredible benefits of herbs and how food can truly be medicine. There was lots of chopping, cooking, laughing, and learning along the way.

Was everything perfect? Not even close. 😂 But it was a beautiful morning filled with fellowship, new friendships, and a shared love of healthy food. That's what community is all about.

We're so thankful for everyone who joined us and for the wonderful community we're continuing to build together.

And we're especially grateful that we didn't burn down the barn! 🤣🌱 IYKYK! 😂😂

We’re getting ready to turn fresh ingredients into something DELICIOUS at our **Cooking Class tomorrow!** 🍅🥕🌱

There’s nothing better than bringing the garden and the kitchen together — learning new skills, sharing a few laughs, and of course… enjoying some tasty food! 😋

We can’t wait to welcome everyone and see what we cook up together. 🍽️💚
