FEBC (Far East Broadcasting Company)

FEBC (Far East Broadcasting Company) We believe everyone deserves to hear the Gospel in their own language. We will always be close to the listener.

That’s why our programs are hosted by local followers of Jesus who speak the same language and live in the same communities as our listeners.

August 24 - In the Buddhist-dominant country of Thailand, there are over 3,800 students participating in FEBC’s Bible Correspondence Course. Many of the participants are in prison and have come to faith through studying the Bible. Pray for these students to have open hearts and minds as they study the life of Jesus.

Who are the Tajik?

They are around 10 million people, most of them living in Tajikistan — the poorest country in Central Asia — in valleys ringed by the Pamir mountains, where some peaks rise over 25,000 feet. They're farmers and herders by tradition, and the same mountains that shape their way of life also cut them off: travel between passes and valleys is slow and hard, and it's slowed the Gospel too.

Fewer than one in a hundred Tajik follow Jesus, making them one of the least-reached peoples in the region. Most are Sunni Muslim, and the few who do believe often face pressure from an authoritarian government and from their own families and neighbors.

It's exactly the kind of place radio was made for — a signal that climbs mountains no missionary could, and reaches homes no visitor could enter.

Follow along to learn more about the hardest to reach people groups.

August 23 - Pray for the ethnic people groups who do not have access to a Bible in their own language. These listeners often record FEBC’s programs to help them grow in their faith. May God’s Word come alive in their hearts and encourage them to share the love of Jesus with others.

“Thank you for being with me during the darkest time of my life,” said Karina, a teenage girl from Ukraine. Karina was in the hospital after a su***de attempt.

“I am in such a better place. Thank you for sharing God’s love with me. Now I know that He is always with me.”

Please pray for Karina and for other teens who are struggling with depression and hopelessness, to let the love of Christ surround and heal their hearts.

August 22 - Please pray for listeners like Turar, from Kazakhstan, who discovered the Gospel through FEBC Kazakhstan’s social media programs. “I used to be a devoted Muslim.... but after a while, I realized there was no truth there. So, I turned away from Islam. Now I am looking for the true path.” Turar is speaking regularly with FEBC’s broadcasters about Jesus and Christianity. Please pray for him to see the truth of the Gospel and to place his faith in Christ.

In Kazakhstan, it's illegal to tell people to follow Jesus. But sharing personal stories? Perfectly legal.

That's how FEBC reaches this restricted nation—through testimonies like Max's.

August 21 - Pray for the unreached people of the Philippines. Pray also for God to guide FEBC’s staff and ethnic broadcasters as they build relationships with listeners and share the life-changing message of hope in Christ.

FEBC's model has never been about outsiders going in.

It's about insiders being empowered.

In 50 countries, local believers host programs in their own language, from their own communities, for their own neighbors. They know the culture. They understand the questions. They share the struggles.

And when someone calls in after hearing the broadcast? They're talking to someone who gets it.
260+ stations. 152 languages. All locally led.

Because the most powerful voice for the Gospel is often the one next door.

August 20 - Many Christians living in Pakistan feel isolated from society due to the dominance of Islam. When they listen to FEBC’s broadcasts, they experience encouragement and realize they are not alone. Pray for the Lord to provide more opportunities for Christian community and draw hearts closer to Christ.

In Kyrgyzstan, mountains cut communities off from almost everything. A radio signal is one of the few things that still gets through.

FEBC has broadcast here since 2012, and a new transmitter in 2014 pushed the signal deeper into the country — on the air 24/7, in the Kyrgyz language.

Today, nearly the entire country is within reach of our Gospel broadcasts.

Pray that across all that distance, they hear the hope of Jesus.
