Being the first to speak, we continue to see an increasing importance and respect for the voice of the youth. Grateful for the opportunity to speak the AYF is committed to representing its community, nation, and people. We will not stand silent. We will not stop. We will remain.

Day 24: Recognizing the Armenian Genocide

Mayor Vong Mouanoutoua of the City of Clovis has officially proclaimed April 24th as Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, recognizing the systematic destruction of the Armenian people beginning in 1915. Clovis is not only home to the only Armenian school in all of Central California, the Charlie Keyan Armenian Community School, but has long been a cornerstone of the Armenian-American community in the Central Valley. For a city with such deep Armenian roots, this recognition is more than symbolic, it is a declaration that our history will not be forgotten.

We are grateful to Mayor Mouanoutoua for his leadership and his commitment to standing with the Armenian community of Clovis.

Day 23: Arshile Gorky: A Survivor’s Legacy

Artist Hazel Antaramian-Hofman discusses the artwork of Arshile Gorky. A survivor of the Armenian Genocide, Gorky transformed his pain and memories into powerful works that helped shape modern art. Day 22: From Mousa Ler to Anjar

Mousa Ler descendant Nshan Der Kalousdian shares the story of his people’s resistance. Their history is not only one of survival, but of renewal; rebuilding their lives and preserving Armenian heritage in Anjar, Lebanon. He encourages younger generations to look to Mousa Ler as an example of living a resilient, informed, and community-centered Armenian life.

The paintings seen in the video are painted by Nshan himself, an homage to his homeland and the Armenians who built a flourishing community in Anjar.
