Central California Asthma Collaborative

Central California Asthma Collaborative CCAC sees a San Joaquin Valley where the health of every resident is our foremost concern.

The Central California Asthma Collaborative focus lies in improving the access to care and quality of care for those afflicted with asthma. CCAC intends on accomplishing this by assisting in both provider education and raising community awareness. This is done by providing insight into the effects of the regional air quality on asthma, educating schools about this chronic disease, and finally, provide tracking and surveillance for asthma and its related disparities.

🎓🎉 Congratulations to our 19 incredible SEED Program graduates!

On Tuesday (4/28), we celebrated 19 incredible graduates from the Sustainable Energy Efficiency Development Program provided by Proteus including 7 from Kern County, whose training was supported by California Jobs First and the Kern Coalition funds. These graduates are now ready to step into the HVAC field and play a vital role in advancing home electrification efforts across Kern County.

And the momentum continues! A NEW SEED cohort just kicked off with 8 more Kern County students beginning their journey toward careers in clean energy. The future is bright! ☀️

Yesterday, our very own Alix Emory took the stage at the CARB Clean Transportation Equity Incentives Symposium!

Alix represented CCAC and the EV Equity Program on the panel "Equity as Infrastructure: Building Systems that Prioritize People First" — and she did an incredible job.

The equity lens Alix brought to that stage is at the heart of everything our EV Equity team does every day: helping low-income California residents navigate EV incentives, access down payment assistance, and get personalized support to make the switch to electric — because clean transportation should be accessible to everyone.

We are so proud of you, Alix! Thank you for carrying our mission forward.

May is Asthma Awareness Month — and today, on World Asthma Day, we're reminded why this work matters.
Did you know asthma affects 1 in 7 Californians? Here in the Central Valley, our communities feel that impact every single day — but you don't have to face it alone.

That's why our CARES (Comprehensive Asthma Remediation and Education Services) program is here. CARES provides FREE in-home asthma education, trigger reduction support, and resources for Medi-Cal patients across our region — because everyone deserves to breathe easier, regardless of their insurance or income.

If you or someone you love is struggling with asthma, reach out to us today and ask about CARES. It costs you nothing and could change everything.

Last week, some of our Climate Equity & Environmental Justice team members had the chance to tour the RaceTrack Solar Farm near Tehachapi, CA and it was such an incredible experience! ☀️⚡

Our partners at (SOFF) invited us to join fellow stakeholders and learn firsthand how Solar + Battery Storage systems work and what community-centered renewable energy can look like right here in the Central Valley.

This is what the future of clean energy and environmental justice looks like and we are proud to be part of it.

_______
