Central California Asthma Collaborative

Central California Asthma Collaborative CCAC sees a San Joaquin Valley where the health of every resident is our foremost concern.

The Central California Asthma Collaborative focus lies in improving the access to care and quality of care for those afflicted with asthma. CCAC intends on accomplishing this by assisting in both provider education and raising community awareness. This is done by providing insight into the effects of the regional air quality on asthma, educating schools about this chronic disease, and finally, provide tracking and surveillance for asthma and its related disparities.

📚 Back to school means back to sports!

As kids head back to the classroom, many are also heading back to the field, court, track, and practice! 🏀⚽️🏃‍♀️

If your child plays sports and has asthma, now is a great time to make sure they’re prepared to stay active and breathe easier throughout the season. 🫁💙

Before they hit the field, remember to:

🫁 Know their asthma action plan
💨 Keep their reliever inhaler accessible
🏃 Warm up before exercise

This week, we celebrate the people behind this important work and the communities they serve. Thank you to our entire Community Health team for your compassion, advocacy, and dedication to helping our clients navigate their health and achieve better outcomes. 💙👏

🚨 BIG NEWS: In a nationwide first, free emergency asthma medication will be available to schools across California.

Through CalRx®, 10,000 schools will receive free albuterol inhalers and spacers for the next three years—helping schools respond quickly when a student is struggling to breathe.

As an organization committed to improving respiratory health across the Central Valley, CCAC is proud to see steps like these making life-saving asthma resources more accessible to the communities we serve. 💙

A major step toward keeping California kids safe and breathing easier. 🌬️
