Coats for Kids is a non-profit program and distribution event, giving out winter wear for ANY child in need in Frederic, Wisconsin. What began as a small event in Siren, Wisconsin promoted locally as hand-me-down winter donations has grown into an annual giveaway of new and gently used winter outerwear in Frederic, Wisconsin serving Polk and Burnett families in need. Started in 2007 by Luann Acker

ley and Sylvia Hansen with a simple goal in mind: to support our local community so no child will be without a winter jacket. Coats for Kids has grown and changed throughout the years, as the program was handed to the late Luann Ackerley's children in 2018, but one thing has remained the same: our mission is to help those in need through service and by raising funds which go directly towards purchasing new and like-new winter outwear to help us support our community each year. Coats for Kids was also the proud recipient of the 2020 Spring/Summer Polk Burnett Electric company Grant through their Operation Roundup program.
