Mea Culpa to ALL of you! So sorry not to have been in touch. Thank you for noticing and for checking on me. Life just got very hectic and internet access has gotten very poor around here. Brandy has offered to help, so she will be posting for us. She is a lot more social media savvy than I am, which admittedly is not saying much… Anyway, I hope that between the two of us we will get this going again. I feel so bad that I haven’t done my part, while you guys just keep on helping us help these puppers.
Right now there are just under 30 dogs here. I will be posting about each one.
Our latest is a sweet older girl we named Quinn. Maybe a Maltese Poodle mix, 9.2 pounds right now. She was a stray and turned herself in by running out in front of the Giles County Animal Control truck. No one ever looked for her, so she came here as soon as her stray hold was up. Quinn just got surgery to remove some really bad teeth, 3 mammary tumors and another strange tumor on her leg, her 2 boneless dewclaws that were so in danger of being caught up in clippers or scissors, and she was spayed. It was a big exhausting day, but everything is on the mend now. She is bouncy and playful after we treated her anemia and kidney infection, and I think that will just increase once she is healed from surgery. She loves to “GO”, does well with people, and is not really bothered by other dogs. She had a lot of fleas when she was picked up, and is missing a bit of hair from being infested, but hair is already starting to grow in. She will have a lovely, silky, slightly wavy, shiny black coat. That means hard to photograph. But these will give you an idea. She will be available to foster or adopt once she heals up, hopefully in a week or two. Will try for better photos when the heat lets up just a bit in a few days.
Praying for rain. The dog toilet that is my yard truly needs a good flushing!!!
