Today was a sad day for Epona Safe Haven and Journeys End Farm, we said goodbye to Timothy Catwell Esquire 😞Timmy came to the farm over 10 years ago as a “barn cat” and it was quickly apparent that Tim had aspirations to run the place! Catching mice was not on his resume and quite frankly was just beneath him! He supervised humans and horses alike and lived a lavish lifestyle! Many knew him most loved him and he will be missed terribly. Timmy left this world surrounded by love ❤️🐈

I’m excited to announce that Painted Horse Saddle Fit will now be offering truck-in saddle fitting appointments at Journey's End Farm, located in beautiful Foster, Rhode Island.

Journey’s End Farm is also home to Epona Safe Haven Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of rescue horses, and I’m honored to support the work they do. 💛

✨ To give back, I will be donating 10% of each client’s total bill from truck-in fittings at this location directly to Epona Safe Haven Horse Rescue.

This is a great option if you:
✅ want a dedicated fitting location
✅ have more flexibility to travel in
✅ are between barns or looking for a central meeting spot

Our older residents were pampered last weekend by Alex of On the Rhodes Equine!! Alex is a good friend of Epona Safe Haven and gave our horses BEMER treatments!! The benefit from the treatment was incredible! There was a noticeable pep in everyone’s step! We highly recommend Alex for BEMER and many other services she offers! 🐴💚

We mean getting into whatever shape results from mucking stalls, raking hay, chasing horses or whatever farm chores suit your fancy! Oh sure it’s glamorous, being covered in horse slobber and hay, who needs a gym when you have a barn full of four-legged personal trainers? It’s a resolution you will easily keep! Epona Safe Haven, where every Hoofbeat finds Hope! As 2025 comes to a close, we at ESH take the time to reflect on this past year. We had our most successful annual Christmas Barn Stroll, the turnout was fantastic, we had so many wonderful vendors and most importantly so many people who visited Epona Safe Haven for the first time. It is critical for people to meet our horses and staff and see what it is that we do! We also had our Inaugural Halloween Fun show! The costume parade was a hit! We have had new volunteers join our team who are amazing! We placed several horses with amazing homes and accepted several owner surrenders. We did have challenges, one of the Epona horses, Rhiannon, was diagnosed with EPM, the treatment is very costly as well as the supplements given to support her. Rhiannon is doing very well, we are cautiously optimistic. We have several horses that have Cushing’s disease and require long term treatment with Prascend. We are so fortunate to have an amazing staff of dedicated, hard working individuals who come to the farm no matter what the weather, hot, cold, rain, snow or shine! If you would like to become involved in Epona Safe Haven, we are a 501c3 nonprofit Equine rescue. We always need volunteers, no experience? No problem! We will train you! Always consider adoption! There are so many horses who are deserving of homes and people who love them! Consider becoming a foster, open your heart and home to a horse that needs a soft, safe place to land. Consider sponsoring one of our long term residents. There are lots of costs involved in caring for horses. Any and all donations are tax deductible. I hope you took the time to read this post! In the midst of the loss of her beloved Buddy, Ruth’s selflessness and kindness have touched us all. Our thoughts are with Ruth during this difficult time and we are thankful for her compassion and support for our rescue.
