🚨 A LADDER ISN’T JUST A LADDER WHEN SOMEONE’S LIFE MAY DEPEND ON IT! 🪜 When the call comes in, there’s no time to figure it out. We train until the right move becomes second nature.

Thursday, October 1st, our members put that mindset into practice during Ladder Operations Training.

Members worked hard & conducted hands-on training with roof & extension ladders, reviewing:

🔺 Location of ladders on our apparatus
🔺 Parts, components & proper setup
🔺 Two-person carries & raises
🔺 Safe climbing techniques
🔺 Proper positioning

Every carry. Every raise. Every climb. Every placement has a purpose.

Because when the emergency is happening, training is what goes with you.

Our volunteer first responders continue to build the skills, confidence, & readiness needed to safely operate when our community needs them most.

🔥 Training never stops. Readiness never stops. The commitment to Foster will NEVER stop!

This is what volunteer readiness looks like. This is what Community First means.

🩺 EVERY SECOND COUNTS — AND KNOWING THE NUMBERS MATTERS.

Some of our volunteer members focused on a fundamental EMS skill: obtaining accurate blood pressures.

From proper cuff placement and positioning to listening for and recognizing blood pressure readings, these skills are an important part of assessing a patient and understanding what may be happening before additional care arrives.

🚑 Training on the basics. Building confidence. Staying ready for the call.

Because when our neighbors need us, being ready starts long before the pager goes off.

Training never stops at Foster Center Volunteer Fire Company. ❤️‍🔥
