🚨 SENIOR DOG SEEKING A SECOND CHANCE 🚨

Meet Penny ❤️

Penny is a 12-year-old spayed Pit Bull who came to our attention when a rescuer saved her from euthanasia. Unfortunately her owner, who inherited Penny after her mother passed away nine years ago, recently faced a housing change and felt she had no option but euthanasia.

Thankfully, right before that happened, someone stepped in from the vets office and took her temporarily so she could try and give her a second chance to live out her golden years. Now we are determined to find this sweet senior girl the loving home she deserves.

🐾 12 years old
🐾 Spayed female
🐾 Loves people
🐾 Previously lived with both dogs and cats, but we are told although she gets along with dogs, if picked on she will defend herself. So must be the right fit. Another easygoing friendly dog.
🐾 Will be fully vetted, vaccinated, dewormed, and have complete bloodwork

Through no fault of her own, Penny has suddenly found herself without a home. At 12 years old, she deserves a soft bed, a caring family, and all the love she can soak up during her golden years.

Unfortunately, Penny cannot stay in her current situation for long due to the other dog not getting along well with others (not her) so we are actively searching for the perfect adopter or another rescue who might have room.

If you’ve ever considered opening your heart to a senior dog, Penny is waiting for you. Senior dogs have so much love left to give, and they ask for so little in return.

We all love when our friend “the hay man” Charles and his sweet dog Jenny come to deliver the hay.
The horses patiently waited while we unloaded the Hay truck this weekend. They like to come over and try to eat it while it’s still on the truck 🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴☺️

While the dogs were all warm and snug in the house today, Jay and I were out in the rain building bunny habitats. Im still not sure how he got me out there in this weather but hopefully we helped some of the “bun buns” 🐰🐇 find a safe spot.

Good with dogs with slow intros, preferably dogs his size
Very sweet, just wants to be loved and be around his people.
Loves walks and does fantastic on a leash. Loves fetch and laying on the grass.

BARC will consider a foster:
It’s for an indefinite period of time—if you have a “need out by” date, do not apply
If you are the homeowner
If you only have 0-2 chill dogs, max
If you understand decompression & agree to follow it exactly as written
If you have no cats
If you have no kids living in the home
If you have any specific personal requests/requirements please do not apply

Please apply to foster (or adopt) sweet Simba. Adopters can be from any surrounding state; fosters must live in Connecticut

THIS IS CRITICALLY URGENT as he is declining each day as sit in a cage crying and begging for help and it’s cruel and inhumane for anyone to force any dog to live this way. Unless a foster or adopter offering an appropriate home environment steps up, he will not allow him to suffer on our watch. That’s how reality-based, responsible rescue works.

🙏🏼‼️Please understand, THERE IS NO BOARDING OPTION regardless of offers to fund it. There is NO “back up” location or plan. This is it. We are trying by posting but we’re out of time. We tentatively have until this Saturday at the most.

After finishing some floor cleaning I spend about 15 minutes looking for Slippery Pete 😱
Did I leave a door open? Did he get stuck somewhere? Did I really see him come back in from outside?
About to call Jay freaking out when I finally found him 🤦🏼‍♀️ Can you find Slippery Pete?
I feel like this is going to happen a lot with this little guy 😂
