Calling all shepherd lovers!!!! 🩷🩷 This girl has been in foster for 7 months 😩 She is a very sweet girl! She just needs someone with experience with shepherd behaviors and lots of socialization and training.
Hattie is such a sweet, loving girl who forms incredibly strong bonds with her people! ❤️ She is very loyal and protective, so she does need a little extra time and patience when meeting new people. Once she builds that trust, she is an affectionate companion who loves being close to her humans and snuggling in bed at night!
She currently lives with other dogs and does well with them, although she can be reactive toward unfamiliar dogs and people while out on walks.
Hattie is still working on her house-training skills. She uses p*e pads and will go outside on the deck, but transitioning to consistently pottying outdoors has been a challenge. She also struggles with being crated and can become destructive when left alone, so she’ll need someone willing to work with her on those behaviors.
One important thing to know is that Hattie can be very protective of her home and has bitten an unfamiliar visitor who entered without a proper introduction. Because of this, slow, controlled introductions and careful management around visitors are essential. She has been making progress with familiarizing herself with new people, but it does take time.
Hattie has so much love to give! She just needs the right person who understands that building trust takes patience and is willing to help her continue learning and gaining confidence. We truly believe she can be a wonderful companion in the right home. ❤️🐾
