I ALMOST DIED 21 TIMES. And I’m finally telling the story.
This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I’m sharing one of the most personal articles I have ever written.
I am a repeat survivor of domestic violence, and there were 21 times when abuse brought me dangerously close to losing my life. For years, survival meant simply making it through. Today, survival means using my voice, sharing my experience, and helping others understand that domestic violence is about more than what people see from the outside.
My new LinkedIn article, “I Almost Died 21 Times: Why Domestic Violence Month Matters,” explores the reality of surviving abuse, the complexity of healing, the importance of believing survivors, and what it means to rebuild your life after trauma.
I’m sharing this because someone may be reading this right now and silently asking themselves:
“Will I ever be able to get my life back?”
My answer is simple:
There can be life after survival. There can be healing after devastation. There can be purpose after pain.
This is my story.
This is my voice.
And this is why Domestic Violence Awareness Month matters.
Please read, share, and help me amplify this conversation. 💜
