We are happy to share the announcement that Leticia Bajuyo is receiving the International Sculpture Center’s 2026 Outstanding Educator Award! Her work "One Way" at the Marine Creek Parkway roundabout at Cromwell-Marine Creek Road was featured in the announcement post. Congrats to Leticia!

The Outstanding Educator Award is given annually by the International Sculpture Center to honor inspiring, influential artists who have taught sculpture at institutions of higher learning for 15+ years and have sustained exemplary careers as professional artists. Recipients are valued by students and colleagues as mentors for future generations, are recognized nationally and internationally for their significant artistic production, and have made significant contributions to the field.

At last night's Fort Worth Art Commision meeting, Demarcus McGaughey presented his final designs for an installation for Fort Worth Fire Station number 26! The project is called "Stitched in Service" and will be soon be installed, once it is finally approved.

Demarcus McGaughey is a Texas-born mixed media artist, who passionately captures the beauty, strength, and vibrancy of people. McGaughey specializes in a mixed media style combining painting, photography, graphic design, paper, and fabric collage.

Throughout his twenty year career, McGaughey has worked with prestigious brands and organizations, including Beyonce Knowles Carter, the Fort Worth Zoo, and beverage giant Dr. Pepper. His work has been highlighted in numerous magazines, galleries and museums across the nation and globally. Selected for two distiguished public art commisions, Demarcus brought his "Kindred Murals" to life in Brooklyn, NY and in Dallas, TX at the Concord Church. There he transformed the church foyer into a vibrant gallery environment that blended faith, art, and technology, inviting congregants into an immersive visual experience rooted in heritage and spiritual reflection.

What is the Arts Fort Worth Youth Arts Ambassador Program all about? The Youth Arts Ambassadors Program (YAAP) is a group of high school students (grades 9–12) from the Fort Worth area who create, promote, and facilitate teen programs with Arts Fort Worth. Ruby Macnab, who is featured in the video, has spearheaded the program!

What do we do?
• Advising, planning, and implementing Arts Fort Worth events such as Youth Art Sync and the Annual Arts Forward Youth Summit
• Volunteering at Fort Worth art events
• Consulting on Arts Fort Worth initiatives and projects
• Working with Arts Fort Worth staff to create marketing materials to promote teen programs
• Promoting Arts Fort Worth teen programs by distributing flyers, participating in special events, and communicating with peers and high school educators and district representatives

PUBLIC ART DEDICATION Friday, September 25, 2026, 4:30 pm on the exterior grounds of Camp Fire First Texas (2700 Meacham Boulevard, 76137). Artist Vicki Scuri will be available for questions following the program.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK Funded by the City of Fort Worth 2018 Bond Program (Proposition A), SkyLight utilizes a series of translucent fins stretching along the railings of two bridges to create a sequenced gesture leading motorists along the boulevard, turning artistic expression into a landmark.

Located at Polaris Drive and Painted Horse Drive, the colorful design incorporates seven rich hues inspired by the Texas skies. Totaling 137 fins across approximately 500 feet of Meacham Boulevard, the work graduates and blends through the hues of dawn and dusk along the length of each bridge. At the center of the crossings, the vibrant greenish blue identifies the water below, celebrating the natural landscape. The translucent material quality and colors of the fins respond to changes in light and viewing angle, maximizing the amount of sun they catch and their visibility along the roadway.

ABOUT THE ARTIST Vicki Scuri is an Artist and Designer who humanizes the built environment, connecting people with place. She endeavors to enrich civic identity, promoting community pride and economic development, fostering meaningful connections with history, culture, and the environment. Her work is inspired by nature, viewed through the lens of technology; interpreting and transforming the natural world into perceptual experiences with a symbolic awareness of time and place. Scuri’s work thrives at the intersections of Art with Urban Design, and Environment, bridging the gaps between disciplines to create a more meaningful and engaging public realm, receiving national acclaim for over 35 years.
