Culturalyst: Fort Worth and Arts Fort Worth would like to introduce you to Sara Hiett, the Founder and Director of Panther City Artists.

Founded in June 2019 by Sara Hiett, Panther City Artists grew out of her 15 years as an art educator in Fort Worth ISD schools. Through her work with students and families, Sara witnessed firsthand the transformative power of art—and recognized a significant lack of accessible, inclusive art opportunities for Fort Worth’s diverse community.

Inspired to close that gap, she established Panther City Artists, a nonprofit rooted in the belief that "Everyone is an Artist". The organization creates meaningful, welcoming art experiences for people of all backgrounds, abilities, and ages.

Panther City Artists partners with schools, churches, nonprofits, and local businesses to bring creative programming directly into the community.

Interested in featuring your work or organization? Culturalyst: Fort Worth is a free online network launched by Arts Fort Worth to connect artists, cultural organizations, and the community with resources, opportunities, and each other. Calling all North Texas residents with knowledge of the arts, nonprofit administration, education, and finance: we need your help to review grant applications! Panelists play a crucial role in the grant-making process by acting as good stewards of public dollars, ensuring that funds are used wisely by evaluating applications with a critical and objective eye. In doing so, Grants Panels allow us to fulfill our mission of creating an environment that promotes, nurtures, and supports the arts in our community!

Today we are featuring images from this year's ARTSforward Youth Summit. This year was the first time we dedicated a whole day of programming to high school students, and hundreds came to Texas Wesleyan University from Fort Worth ISD, Eagle Mountain Saginaw ISD, Keller ISD, and Arlington ISD among others.

At the Youth Summit, students heard from local creatives about careers in the arts, as well as meet representatives from local arts organizations and universities. Students also participated in group projects that explored their artistic and career preparation skills.

Special thanks to Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker for addressing the students, and thanks to all the presenters, volunteers, sponsors, college and career representatives, non-profit organizations, and TWU staff that made the event possible. See you next year!

And last but not least, thanks to Julien & Lambert Photo for the wonderful photos!
