Today we are celebrating the completion of the North Highlands Neighborhood's 2026 Improvement Grant Project.

The mural and crosswalks painted by local artist Suzanne Rhee at Hamilton Park were supported by the City of Fort Wayne's Department of Neighborhoods and Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation, with additional support from Arts United.

We are grateful to have such amazing partnerships helping neighborhoods bring their goals to life!

Fort Wayne’s Northwood Historic District is now listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The National Park Service recently announced the listing for the district, which is part of the larger Northside Neighborhood Association. The Northwood Historic District is centered around Northwood Boulevard and is bordered by Forest Avenue on the south, Kentucky Avenue on the east, East State Boulevard on the north and each side of Saint Joe Boulevard on the west).

The area was part of expanding development for Fort Wayne’s middle class in the early 1900s, and its architecture reflects styles popular during the period of its construction. The most popular styles in the district are American Four Square, Colonial Revival, and Craftsman, along with several bungalow house types.

A high number of the homes retain their historical features and this provides an overall feeling of integrity to the historic nature of the neighborhood. Among the homes in the district is the Ninde-Mead-Farnsworth House, known for its association with Philo Farnsworth, the inventor of television.

Time is running out to share your thoughts about the Fort Wayne Police Department through a survey.

Available on Engage Fort Wayne, the survey will help FWPD better understand how the community views the department, what residents expect, and which qualities should guide the department’s future communications and public identity.

Questions address topics such as trust, transparency, professionalism, community engagement, public-safety priorities, and how residents prefer to receive information from FWPD.

Responses will establish a baseline for FWPD’s branding and communications efforts. The survey is voluntary, and FWPD will review responses in aggregate.

Great things are coming to the Fairfield Terrace Belmont Neighborhood!

Artist Brandon Coley talked with neighbors this weekend to get their ideas for a mural that he will paint on Restoration Center Church of God In Christ, 5522 McClellan St.

The mural is part of the Fort Wayne Public Art Commission’s Shout Out initiative designed to bring public art into our city’s neighborhoods.
