Adorable Chase is now available for adoption! 🎉 Are you looking for a young, playful, friendly companion? Then this guy might just be the perfect fit! He’s only 1 year old (DOB 1.10.25), 13lbs, loves to play with other playful dogs, and is very social. And did we mention that he is potty and crate trained?

Chase came into rescue as an owner surrender when his previous family realized he was not a great fit for their home. They had older, calm cavaliers that weren’t a fan of his puppy energy. So we are looking for an active person or family that will give him plenty of enrichment and love! He enjoys kids, but older children (10+) are preferred. He loves toys and pets and walks great on leash! He’s the whole package!

Health-wise Chase is:
✅UTD on rabies, DHLPP and bordatella
✅neutered
✅heartworm negative
✅f***l negative
✅microchipped
✅given clean bill of health by our vets

Welcome CHASE to the HCC family! His loving family surrendered him to us because he wasn’t getting along well with their older cavaliers. He’s a playful and energetic guy and we totally understand that sometimes doggie-dynamics just don’t work out, even when the dogs are the same breed! We will find a home that’s a better fit for his personality and enrichment needs and everyone will be happier! Thanks to Cathy and Steve for fostering this cute little guy!

🐶Update on JOY! 🐶
Remember adorable little 11 week old, 3lb Cavapoo Joy that we brought into rescue about 2 months ago? She had a neurological condition that prevented her from being sold by her breeder so we took her in! We raised funds for her testing and care because we weren’t sure what expenses would be like to help her get the best start on life as possible.

When she came into rescue she had an upper respiratory infection and roundworms, so we got her treated for those. Then her f***l recheck showed giardia, so we treated that diagnosis as well (two times actually!). She’s had exams by a general practice veterinarian, a canine rehab veterinarian, and a neurologist. And of course she got her puppy vaccines and started on heartworm prevention. She will be spayed in a few weeks when she gains a bit more weight because she’s still a tiny little thing!

Through it all her loving foster parents report that she is playful, intelligent, and full of life! She does have an unusual gait and some weakness in her back left leg, but she is eating, sleeping, and pottying well (mostly outside 🤣) and she seems to be a growing healthy puppy! Through all of her exams and tests we weren’t able to pinpoint an exact cause of her issues, but our vets think that she is stable and pain-free at this time and feel that her prognosis is good! She has started physical therapy sessions to improve her balance and muscle development. And surprise surprise, her foster family fell in love with her and just had to adopt her! She loves playing and cuddling with her canine and feline fur siblings and of course getting lots of love fron her human family members too.

Thanks to ALL who donated to her care so that we could take care of her needs! It’s another Happily Ever After for a cavalier in need! 💜

🐶UPDATE ON FINN🐶
We thought you might like to know how Mr. Finn is doing! After just 48 hours in rescue with us, we has made some huge gains!!! Look how handsome he looks after some gentle grooming and a bit of confidence! His foster mom is reporting that he is pottying outside, walking better on leash, enjoying his Freshpet dog food, welcoming slow and gentle pets, and was very tolerant of the short grooming sessions we have been providing him.

He saw the vet yesterday and we are very happy to report that despite being quite neglected by his previous owners, he is a generally healthy boy! His heartworm test was negative, his heart is clear of murmurs, and his ears and eyes are healthy! YAY! We are still awaiting his f***l results but hoping for good news there. He was a good sport receiving vaccines. Sadly, our vet thinks that his gum inflamation was caused by him repeatedly chewing on his crate wires, which is horribly sad. 😭 But his Freshpet dog food is helping him to get nutritious food without hurting his teeth and gums, and he will get a thorough dental within a week or two, along with his neuter of course. We are also thinking that he might be a cavalier-cocker spaniel mix, considering that he is large for a cavalier (27lbs), has a longer nose, and possibly an intentionally docked tail. He is also very interested in the birds in his foster’s backyard!

We will continue to give him time to trust and adjust to his new home and learn that humans can be a source of love and care.

We are in need of large belly bands and large surgery suits for this sweetie! The list is updated and in order of priority if you would like to be a part of Finn’s journey!

Please help us welcome FINN into the HCC family! This is a tough one. He was picked up from a rescue partner today but originally surrendered by a commercial breeder in Ohio. He looks scared and filthy because he is in fact, scared and filthy. His loving foster mom has been working to gently cut p**p balls, mats, and sticks from his coat. She found a tick as well, thankfully not latched on yet. Half of his tail is missing (cavaliers don’t typically have docked tails), presumably from an accident. His gums are badly inflamed so he will need significant dental work and is enjoying Fresh Pet dog food for supper to try to ease the pain. This is what we know BEFORE his first vet visit, which will be tomorrow. Sometimes rescue is hard, but we are excited to see Finn’s transition after getting some much needed medical care, quality food, and some good old fashioned love and compassion. 😭🐶 We are so extremely grateful for our kind volunteers and fosters that change the lives of these fur babies!

Starting your Monday off with this adorable pupdate including two HCC alumni! 🥹 You might remember the middle pup Remi/Archie (tricolor) was placed with his family summer of last year. And his mom is best friends with more recent adopter of Sir Arthur, the ruby guy at the bottom of the photo! And they have a beautiful Blenheim girlfriend. 🥰 These three got to hang out while Archie’s mom was on vacation and we hear they had a fantastic time playing. This makes us so happy! 💜

Welcome JASPER to the HCC family! This sweet, friendly, 4 year old guy was brought into rescue when his family could no longer care for his needs. As you can see on his face, he is a little confused about this new adventure, but he will be well taken care of in his foster home. He is a very social and cuddly guy! And he will feel much better after a thorough bath (post-bath photos to come!).

We are happy to report that he is heartworm negative and was a very good sport for his vaccines and exam, but he does have weight loss goals as this guy is topping the scales at 33lbs! 😳 He also seems to have an eye abnormality so we will be looking into that further and providing treatment as needed.

We already have a pre-approved adopter for this gentlemen so he is not taking applications at this time.

Thank you so much to Karen B. for helping with his transportation and vetting. We have so many wonderful volunteers and fosters and we appreciate them so much!
