Our AEP Nature Explore Classroom is looking better than ever! 🌿✨

THANK YOU to the incredible crew from the Do It Best Foundation! For United Way’s Day of Caring, around 30 amazing volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help us clean up, spruce up, and prep our outdoor learning space.

Thanks to their hard work, our classroom is looking beautiful and ready to welcome you all for our Open House on September 17th!

A little mulch goes a long way for Indiana’s trees! 🌳

It keeps roots hydrated, blocks weeds, and feeds the soil as it breaks down. Just remember the golden rule: shape it like a doughnut, not a volcano. Keeping the mulch away from the trunk lets the tree breathe and prevents rot.

This incredible team went above and beyond on United Way of Allen County's Day of Caring. Thank you to all the volunteers from Do It Best for returning our Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom to tip-top shape.

I'm always proud to be a part of the Do it Best and True Value team ... especially today!

We had about 30 people show up and volunteer as part of the United Way of Allen County Day of Caring ... We helped Trees Indiana with their Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom.

What a great time serving with our incredible team!

It's quiz time! Do you know which of these nuts is native to Indiana?

Drumroll please...

The answer is hazelnut! Growing typically to 8–15 feet tall, the American hazelnut produces clusters of sweet, edible nuts favored by both local wildlife and humans, and provides a quick-yielding, high-density calorie crop.

The beginning of hazelnut season is in late August in Indiana. See if you can spot these plants the next time you're out in nature!

The transformation of Weigand Yard at Electric Works is proof that Indiana can honor its history while growing a greener, healthier future.

By replacing concrete and train tracks with a thriving tree canopy, this space now combats the urban heat island effect, filters our air, and creates a cool, shaded sanctuary for the community and local wildlife alike.

We are looking back at 20 years of incredible memories as we get ready for our Rings of Growth 20th Anniversary Open House on September 19th! Take a trip down memory lane with us in these throwback photos. 📸

For 20 years, Trees Indiana has been getting kids away from screens and into nature. We believe young people are more likely to champion the environment when they see firsthand its value in their lives, and looking at these faces from over the years, we know those seeds of stewardship are already shading generations of Hoosiers. 💚

Come celebrate this major milestone with us:

⏰ 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM
